I've seen him play. He's a very impressive athlete. Big and fast - very fast. He's not the most elusive guy in the world, but in a flat sprint, there aren't a whole lot of guys who are going to catch him from behind. With so few scholarships available next year, I don't know that he's a guy you offer in the spring. Great athlete, but I don't know if he's a game-changing guy. But I admit, I don't know that he isn't. I've only seen him play once.

Certainly worth keeping an eye on, if nothing else.

I can't take this year after year! EVERY year you people say there will be "so few scholarships" availiable next year and it always turns out to be wrong. What is the deal?

"The deal" is that the following scholarship players will be seniors on the 2005 roster:

Charles Akinyemi
Tony Eckert
Chris Foster
Jamey Harper
Rico Harris
Rolando Humphrey
Don Ieremia-Stansbury
Brad Kieschnick
Chris McMurtray
Ryan Mentzel
Ashton Nixon
Alvin Nnabuife
Jerad Romo
Cedric Vinson

That's all of 14. And if the coaches decide to plan for the future by redshirting one of the JUCO quarterbacks, that means 13. With normal attrition, that means we'll have what .... 15? 17?

So? Do you ever pay attention to the natural attrition that happens each and every year. Go check a roster from fall camp-I bet there are 10 players who have left the team since then and that was only 7-8 months ago. Happens every year-it will happen this year too. Let's also not forget about 4th year juniors who have never seen playing time that routinely "decide" to graduate after their 4th year. The date on which the 2006 class must be under 85 is August 1 2006 which is about 18 months from today. Heck you've included a list of seniors and I hear some of them won't be back.

Which might explain why this year's class was as large as it was. I would guess that scholarships allocated to players who might be leaving might already have been used. (And PonyTales already allowed for some attrition.... Hard to say how much there will be from one year to the next.)
