One time only

Post by BUS »

I like so many things that I see and hear about this year but one thing. The lack of BIG MEN.
We have a capable o-line and not much depth. IF our O-line can stay healthy and give the ??? young pup QB some time and open holes for ( you pick one ) RB we can win some games.

The D-Line needs some back up for the games against HUGE lines like Hawaii but I think they will play better this year than last.

Chant to this years recruiting - 10 BIG MEN
Luv from Fullerton.

I'm right there with you, BUS. We need at least 10 big men. Personally, I'd like to see 12 or maybe even 14. Our starters have some talent, but with the reality that injuries hit every team, we need to increase the depth. By a lot. As coaches always say, competition for spots makes all players compete harder and play better.

The reason I say 10 is because I would like to see 10 each and every year and keep a steady flow of that competition you speak of.

That may be a little high to always have 20 o-line and 20 d-line guys but I would rather have them standing around at practice that the 5-8 180Lb somewhat quick guys.

Just my thoughts.

You're right, 20 linemen on each side of the ball is too many. But for the next year or two, I agree with Thumper -- take more than normal, just to balance out the numbers.
