More like it definitively makes the Big East a mid major again.
well I do think the big east is slightly above the other conferences. tallest of the midgets.

It is still tons better than the new Sun Belt/C-USA which is where we would be if we didn't start trying a few years ago.

While it may hurt the pride to see the Big East lumped in with those other conferences, the fact remains that this is a victory for the Big East. Because this conference -- given the schools remaining and the schools entering next season -- should finish with the highest ranked team out of this group every single year.

Look at the past history. Current or future Big East schools would have gotten a guaranteed spot eight of the past nine years. Hawaii in 2007 is the only exception. So even though there will be no "automatic qualifier" label moving forward, there will be six automatic spots available, and the Big East has a great shot to get one of them every single season.

I just don't get why there is only one spot for the "nonAq" what happens if we had two teams one goes 12-0 and 11-1 and beat the other conferences in OOC play. There should be freaking exceptions to this. I know it's unlikely we would have two teams with that record against tough OOC play but it would be stupid if they 11-1 team beat an SEC team going to one of those bowls.

I think 1 is guaranteed and 4 at-large spots remain.

I sure hope so, but isn't that one guaranteed spot a game against crappy ACC team? Heck I take the at-large spots in that case lol

The Big XII has K State at the top and UT, OU and TT in the second 10. BE has Louisville in Top 20. Not sure how the ACC points out above the BE.
Remember the Big Ten has Ohio State which is 10-0 and basically #5 but currently "banned" from being ranked in most polls.
