Again, this site is for fans. Stallion is no fan, he just likes to sit behind the shroud of this webpage and comment about what the school does or doesn't do, thinking he knows everything about everything. I don't know why you guys give him the satisfaction of even responding to his constant negative commentary. Ignore him.

not a fan? come on guys, you may not agree with the guy or like what he has to say, but anyone who lives on this site and has attended as many SMU football games as Stallion has over the years...well, if that's not a fan, I have no clue what a fan is.

Who knows if he really attends games. It is my understanding that he is NOT a member of the Mustang Club. Is that a fan?

Do we have to rehash this junk every year? Every year we go through the same thing. Stallion is a jack@$$, but he actually does care about SMU football. Every year, the same cr@p is discussed:

1. Stallion is not a member of the Mustang Club, so he can't be a true fan;
2. Stallion never goes to basketball games, so he can't be a true fan;
3. Stallion never washed his sheets once his Freshamn Year, so he can't be a true fan. Scratch that last one, that just makes him a slob.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Surely an accomplished attorney like Stallion can pony up some coin to be a part of the Mustang Club. Hell...I'll put up a buck & if 49 others on this site do it, too...he can be one.

Don't read into this question anything more than the question itself...Why isn't Stallion a member of the Mustang Club?

Maybe he is voting/protesting with his pocketbook?

I have had some donors that quit for a year but they come back.

Look at the record - Thinkgs are getting better. After a winning year, Will Stallion give money then????

There are several real problems with that reasoning regardless of who is doing it. One of SMU's problems is not having enough money to support the football program including the recruiting process. Withholding financial support hinders the progrm and is counter-productive especially if your complaint is that we are not competitive. It takes money to be competitive!!! Secondly, the smaller the number of Mustang Club members, the harder it is for the Athletic Department to make their case that the alumni demand a change to the restrictions put on the recruiting process and other areas of need. A small number of MC members and a small amount of funds raised would indicate that no one cares. We need at least 5,000+ Mustang Club members, not just the approximately 2,000 we have now. Money talks and so does the number of people involved in support of the program.

I firmly believe some people use that as a cop-out. The real reason they show conditional support, is that they are tight wads.

I'm not sure, but I think Stallion is someone that helped me keep a thread alive for SMU on a Prodigy college football bulletin board some years ago, and before the internet really went public.

With some of the detailed recruiting reports, etc. he put up there, he's a
real SMU fan. With some of the searches I did on this guy, I think he works for a law firm, but may not be an attorney.

I wasn't referring exclusively to Stallion. And I know for a fact, that he is a big fan, and an attorney.

Not everyone who is a fan is/can be a member of the Mustang Club. Didn't I read a couple months ago where Mr.Mustang1965 finally joined? Was he not a true fan before?

No you don't have to be a Mustang Club member to be a good fan, but if you can afford it (the beginning membership level is $50 a year) then you ought to give it serious consideration. The membership fees go towards supporting all the sports at SMU with additional dollars to put towards recruiting expenses and equipment for the athletes. If you are in the lucky position of having a lot of resources (cash), you can make additional contributions dedicated to the sport of your choice.

Filling Ford stadium and Moody collisium and participating in some post season bowls and tournaments would go a long way towards providing much of the funds necessary to finance the various sports, but even then the additional funds raised by the Mustang Club are vital to the operation of the Athletic Department.

I think that in the past many people thought it was an elitist organization only available to the few, but it is really like any other school's booster organization and it is open to all who are interested.

Sorry, but you can't be "KINDA PREGNANT".

Either you're an SMU fan-- or you're not!

If you're a fan, you can complain, sure.

But, pleazzzzzzzzzzzeeee, not EVERY waking moment (like some on this site)...
