Cotton is looking a lot more healthy and had a good one today. Also, ofebu (sp) got a lot of minutes as well. Had some turnovers as I remember, but at least Brown had enough confidence to leave him in. We do commit too many silly fouls.

Attendance was surprisingly light, I thought. Good win. Glad we got the first one out of the way.

Nick definitely picked the right shoes for the second half.

We still have our share of screwups and still miss too many easy shots, but man the defense was good today. Back-to-back turnovers from Tulane with less than three seconds on the shot clock late in the first leading to a Tulane timeout after a 16-2 SMU run. Good stuff.

What was up with the scoreboard? It was obvious it wasn't updating the individual stats - but was it operator error or a technical issue? Inexcusable at this level.

When Jalen fouled out he pointed at the scoreboard and gestured to the bench how he thought he only had two. Naturally, one could argue players should know their foul status and/or be reminded by the coaches, but they obviously are relying on the stats so get that damn scoreboard working pronto.

Nice to get a conference win. Let's get another one Wednesday.

A win is a win. I hope we can finish middle of the pack. Get a 6 seed and make a run in the tourney.

I think that's a good goal for this year's team. Finish 6th and win a 1st round CUSA tourney game. If they can do that, they should finish better than .500 on the year and get an invite to one of those random .com post season events that at least allows these guys more practice time and game experience

Hope the Moody renovation gets a new functioning scoreboard, and a better AC/heating system

finally...a game where we had more assists than turnovers - 19/18

very unusual to see an Ed Conroy coached teams with 6 assists and 21 turnovers. Our guys are playing good D to make that happen

Brown is so great in post game. When asked about how good we were with blocks on defense, he said he didn't like blocks cause it meant we were getting beat on the dribble penetration. Pure gold.

lol, he's right. I hate blocks b/c they leave backside rebounds and easy put backs. Its like a pet peeve. That said, j [deleted] did his thing late in the first

Stat line seems to indicate that Shawn Williams was a little more impactful today. Any truth to that?

LB in the post game interview said they ran specific plays for him early to get him going. Said they might do it again next game. It seemed to help him when he got off the snide in the first few minutes of the game.

He was really pumped when he made that first three...

Good to see.

Williams is what he is offensively. Not a good enough shooter to stay outside and be a spot shooter. Not big enough and not enough hops to score a lot inside.

Last night he was fantastic defensively. Works his [deleted] off, plays physical, good positioning, and got a bunch of loose balls.

The fresh are all getting the message from brown. The reason you are playing is because you have talent, so try and make plays. When 5 went up passive on offense, brown took him out. But at least he was looking to shoot. As soon as the kids don't look nervous as hell when they touch the ball, they will get minutes in the second half.

Manual has great feet. Very quick. If he can start finishing around the bucket he is going to be special. More upside than jones even, I think. He plays defense with easy quickness.

I like Manuel a ton as well. He's special physically as a guard, just a fluid athlete that can glide or short stride. My only wish for Ryan would be that he comes aggressive. He can get in the lane almost anytime he wants, so do it. Attack, don't play side to side, go at the basket
