Is that game being played at HP? It doesn't look like Ownby. My memory is fading.

This is the cover of the 1980 media guide. Don't worry fellows, it will easily pass current NCAA restrictions. It was a whole 89 pages.

This is the front cover of the 1981 media guide. It had grown to 104 pages from 89 pages the year before.

This is from the 1979 Tx-SMU game. This is James running for a few yards. And there is a little of me in this pic as well.

Hayden Fry carried off of the field after beating TCU 35-22 in his last
game at SMU in 1972. He had been fired the day before.

Ironically, that was the last game for red helmets. Dave Smith came in with those awhful Ohio State uniforms and the red helmets were no more.

how they let smith get away from a 'classic' design & go to something so %%^$# abstract as those unis was absurd!!! he could have probably used pink & got away with it!
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

IMO Smith almost single handedly ruined SMU football. You can say what you want, but Ron Meyer designed the classic uniforms and changed the mindset of the players to that of winners.
