Very Impressed
New here obvious first post. I went school at the University of Arizona live in Austin hold Texas season football tickets but grew up in University Park in the 80's a huge SMU fan now in Austin for 5 years. Tonight I had the pleasure to be invited by a good friend and SMU alum to meet and hear Phil Bennett,Jim Tubbs and Jim Copeland speak to the Austin area Mustang Club. After hearing Bennett, Tubbs and Copeland yalls future is very bright. CUSA gives SMU athletics a great future and I see the olympic sports having immediate success and the football and basketball teams having a great future there. On that Great Luck Pony fans I hope to be at the SMU/atm game and maybe another SMU home game!!
I was also at the Austin event (good food and beautiful setting on Lake Travis) and was surprised to hear Bennett say that the starting QB would be Eckert or Romo. He said that in spite of having a nice Spring Game that Phillips still had trouble throwing the ball. He felt it was unlikely that Phillips would challenge the other two. I hope he fully recovers from that rotator cuff injury for 2006. He's one heck of an athlete that I would love to see on the field. Also, nice to know that the CUSA Bball Championship game will be on CBS. Two Austin area Volleyball signees were there, both gorgeous, didn't get their names though. Go Mustangs!
I would assume it's these two:

Westlake won the 5A state championship in 2002 with Kons being named as team MVP. In 2003, her team advanced to the 5A District 25 Regional Semifinals and she earned Academic All-District honors.
Natalie Peters, is also from Austin. She is a 6-0 middle blocker at Lake Travis High School and for the club Austin Juniors.

I thought it was settled that people under 35 are not allowed to be SMU fans.smupony94 wrote:Last night was good but I was unhappy about how few peoplle under 30 there were. Oh and Canadian Longhorns are always accepted at SMU events.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
