Undersized DT/C

(From scout.com, obviously.)

The Scout.com Waco Combine (held at Baylor’s Floyd Casey Stadium) hosted several standout prospects from the Lone Star State, at all positions, not just the DL. But before we move the spotlight off of the D-Linemen, time to bring you the seventh and final defensive line prospect for a few notes and numbers to mull over.

Sharod Basey: DT/C

3-Cone: 8.22
Broad Jump: 8-6
Texas Top 200 (Scout.com)
Position: DT, OL
Projected as: OL, DT

Scout.com All-American Combine Eval: The Waco (University) DT is a little shy, today, regarding where most coaches want their future “inside” guys to be at weight-wise. If Basey managed to add just another 10-20 pounds (putting him at, or about, 275-285), his stock would rise. Another thing you can't keep from noticing about the CenTex DT is his "athleticism." At times, it looks like he is capable of outrunning wind. So, despite the fact coaches will frown on Basey's lack of size, others will be glued to his “athletic package” (clocked a 4.86 forty, extremely rare for a DT, making him a very intriguing prospect...) Some schools will offer, again, if he's already qualified. We also like the idea of projecting him as a center prospect, where he could be a very athletic force at that position as well..

Undersized (6-0.5/266) DT prospect who smoked the forty station at the Scout.com Waco All-American Combine with a 4.86 forty clocking. Kid can move and might be a candidate to play on both sides of the line in college either as a center or defensive tackle.

Well, if all those guys were too small, and this guy is also too small, its pretty much a guarantee this guy will be awesome isn't it?

Just like every slow running back is going to be the next Emmitt Smith, Every slow WR is going to be Jerry Rice, and every short QB will win a Heisman like Doug Flutie.

Heck, let's find a guy with half a foot because that means he can kick 60 yard field goals like that guy did for the Saints.

Brutal Danny, I think they are saying we shouldn't "write him off" because of his size...... but that was funny
