Re: Student Transporation to Curtis Culwell CenterI can see both sides on this. The school not wanting to invest the money is one thing but I definitely think more students would go if given the option of riding on a party bus to the game. That is what we called them on our way to Texas Stadium back in the day.
Re: Student Transporation to Curtis Culwell Center
Were those organized by the athletic department or the fraternities? I am guessing if people want to party on the bus to the game they should not rely on the school to organize the bus. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
Re: Student Transporation to Curtis Culwell Centerit wouldn't be bad idea for a nominal fee. Probably wouldn't take more than 1 bus I got a feeling-if more sign up get a second. These are our best fans why not assist them

Re: Student Transporation to Curtis Culwell Center
I think, if I remember, they were fraternity buses. So, win win. No school funds expended and fraternites have an oppourtunity to flaunt their stuff. Problem solved.
Re: Student Transporation to Curtis Culwell CenterSay what you want about the student body but its unacceptable to not provide transportation to a supposed "home game" that is a ways away from campus. Students are excited for basketball, suck it up and pay for a couple buses smu and maybe dont build another fountain on campus if its a cost issue.

Re: Student Transporation to Curtis Culwell CenterWhy in the world would we not pay to bus our students to these HOME games? We rode busses to the 5/6 home football games at the CB, what's the difference? Ridiculous that athletics assumes kids can just find a way to get off campus. Take the liability out of having drunk students driving on freeways, let them get their buzz on, and haul their butts out to Garland on a comfy coach; we are talking about two busses here.
Is the band paying their own way out there?
Re: Student Transporation to Curtis Culwell Center
You have said exactly what I was going to say. Everyone has the option of going on their own if they wish but we had buses to the CB when I was there. I cringe to think what will happen when a kid is killed in a wreck (drunk or not) for a trip to a home game when there were no other options. If you at least have the option then you cannot be blamed if someone goes on their own and has a wreck. This may sound stupid but in this everyone sue everyone world the chance is there. All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: Student Transporation to Curtis Culwell Center
I think the Athletic Department is paying for band and cheer, so at least that is something, but you are definitely getting the point across of what I didn't want to out right say. Take some liability out of the equation.

Re: Student Transporation to Curtis Culwell CenterI went into student senate yesterday and mentioned this and they are now looking to take care of it and provide buses.

Re: Student Transporation to Curtis Culwell Center
I had not thought of school funding outside of the Athletic Department. Great thinking!
