Re: How many OOC wins do we need to make it to any post seasWe need to consider "post season" the NCAA tourney only. I know that sounds crazy since it has been 21 years since our last appearance but our coaching, talent upgrade and conference upgrade warrant that expectation.
I think the most important thing in OOC is to avoid a bad loss. Losing to any of these teams would really hurt our chances..... Must wins: 6-0 Texas St Arkansas Pine Bluff McNeese St Texas Pan America Hofstra UIC (even though this will be a tough game) Need to win 2 of 3: 8-1 TCU Rhode Island Wyoming Need to win at least 1: 9-3 Arkansas Virginia A&M So I'll say we need to go 9-3 without a bad loss. Then finishing 2 or 3 games over .500 in the AAC would probably give us a good shot at the tourney. A signature win over a Louisville, UConn or Memphis would help our cause too. SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four

Re: How many OOC wins do we need to make it to any post seasSlow down young grasshopper. We did go 15-17 last season. Getting to the NIT this year would be a huge accomplishment since we still have no idea how all these guys will gel.
There's also 13 OOC games, you missed Sam Houston State. I think 9-4 would be getting the job done pretty damn well, but I like said in another thread, I don't know a lot about teams outside of major conferences BOP - Providing insensitivity training for a politically correct world since 1989.
Re: How many OOC wins do we need to make it to any post seasYea I'd happily take the NIT this year.
That bogus tournament we were in a few years ago...not so much. Obviously the NCAA would be amazing, but we should be somewhat realistic given our inability to even get out of the first round of the cusa tournament the past however many years...
