Lindy's college bball preview

Postby LA_Mustang » Wed Sep 18, 2013 3:50 pm

Picked it up at lunch. SMU notes:

Some info was old. They still have Bernardi on our roster and have Nick Russell starting over Nic Moore, which I don't think there's anyway Moore doesn't start. They have the AAC as the 4th best conference in the country behind ACC, Big 10 and Big East. The Big XII 5th so it nice to be ahead of them.

We are picked 7th in the conference and not picked to make the NCAA tourney. 4 from the AAC - Louisville, UConn, Cincinnati and Memphis making it. Best shooter in the AAC - Keith Frazier. They asked which player is likely to play in the NBA first - Chris Jones (Louisville PG), Austin Nichols (Memphis F) or Keith Frazier. The pick was Jones because of his two years of JUCO experience. Overall that we are one year away.

They have Moreira as the #2 JUCO in the country behind Louisville's Jones and Mudiay as the #1 recruit in the 2014 class. And Frazier as the 43rd best incoming freshman in the country.

One more thing. They had a biggest miss selection and it was us missing out on the Harrison twins to Kentucky. They seemed to think we were very very close to getting them. I didn't know that.

Interesting that the best shooter in the AAC hasn't even played a single game at the college level........

Let's hope he does.

I really enjoy reading Lindy's, Street & Smith, etc., but the one problem they have is they write that stuff over the summer (or earlier). Many times the information is pretty stale. With that said, they are pretty accurate with their predictions. Let's hope they are wrong about America's new sweetheart team, SMU.

Saw Athlon yesterday at Barnes and Noble, I skimmed it, had us a bit better, 5th in conference and a projected NIT team.
Probaly won't happen...BUT...maybe it will!!

I like Athlon's because they give rosters with hometowns.
