Poll: How many games will it take for this team to jell?

I looked how the experts have our OOC opponents picked. The preseason predictions say Virginia will be our toughest OOC game. Most have them winning one tourney game and one has them making the sweet 16. Finishing 5th in the ACC. A&M, Arkansas and Rhode Island as NIT quality opponents. I'll say the Arkansas game will be our 2nd toughest since at Arkansas.

I think it will take 5-10 games if not more. Then again, it depends on your definition and expectations for the team. To me it involves playing up to the level of their individual talents in which case they would need to make the NCAA tournament and I know that is not the general consensus in terms of expectations.

It is also about chemistry and as stated above he will probably have to experiment with different lineups. It is about more than just individual talent.

That is why I say that my expectation is for the team to play up to the level of their individual talents. If they do and blend their skill sets, then they should make the NCAA tournament. Easier said than done though.

Kentucky had the more individual talent than most teams but did not make it to the tournament. They could make the tournament but not should. We are a bubble team even if we do have good chemistry and blend together well. We have middle of the pack AAC talent and that is speculation. We will know more after we play Arkansas imo.

I would argue that the talent is there for them to make the tournament. Then again, the Blue Jays had the talent to make a serious run at the playoffs and are stuck in last place in the AL East.

If we were in CUSA then yes I would say we could make the NCAA tournament because I believe we would have 24 or 25 wins being in that conference. But I do believe if we can get over .500 then LB's name can get us into the NIT. Then when Mudiay gets here we can make a run for the NCAA tournament. Remember that we really only have 2 outside shooters in Moore and Frazier (if he is eligible). I am hoping Darrick Wood commits to us.

I won't argue with on that. And I also agree with you that it is easier said than done. Should be fun to watch them play.

After watching the first 3 games I would say that it will take around 8 to 10 games total to get the chemistry together.

it's going to take the bulk of or non-conference games just to figure out the starting lineup and best rotation/combinations. Ben Moore is pushing for a starting spot, but who comes off the bench to provide a park if/when needed. he's been that guy so far
