Am I being petty? The most exciting time in SMU BBall is around the corner and the best we can do is a luncheon at Umphrey Lee? Doh had great nights at a country club..
And this after seat costs have sky-rocketed.
I'm not saying I'm not going but it's a bit underwhelming.

Maybe the capacity at Umphrey Lee is better that other locations. Also, being on campus allows more students to come. I think it is a good idea.

I doubt students are paying the $75 a ticket....

I agree that students coming is questionable, but this is more a testament to overall interest in athletics.
For most SMU students, I don't think $75 is a barrier for entry.

Have you been to an event in Umphrey Lee lately. It is huge and super nice. I went to a Maguire Institute luncheon there and it is nicer than any hotel. It is First rate.

One in which most SMU students' cars are nicer than mine.

No, I would say as a student that $75 very much is a barrier to entry. The other barrier would be class.....

I have a bigger problem with it being at lunch time during the week. The evening events are much more fun, must more relaxed and drawn out. And you don't have to go back to work with a buzz...

This is SMU not UNT. I think most of our student can afford it.
