Unfortunately classes don't start until the 17th (which is the Friday before MLK day which we have off...... Don't get me started)

I am sure most of the members on the basketball team nor their parents nor the recruits that SMU's recruiting (who read this board) do not dislike MLK. So you probably should not get started if that is what you are implying.

I would think he is implying why start on a Friday before a Monday holiday. Why not wait until Tuesday to start classes. I did not take this as a slur on MLK. I certainly would hope not.

I honestly hope you are right. If so sorry for the potential misinterpretation Smerkins.

Haha yes that would be exactly what I'm saying. Sorry for the vagueness.

Just need a new interterm course... how about something like sports history, sports management, sports statistics? Extra credit for attending games.

I used to give my students extra credit for going to games as long as they turned in a paragraph or two about the band.

That's a laugher. They've already purchased their lift tickets.

Even though classes don't start until the 17th, formal recruitment starts on the 12th (dorms open that day). Most of the groups have "work week" that is mandatory starting sometime early the week prior to that. So it is possible that there will be a large group of students that are back on campus sometime around the opening of Moody, or just a few days after.
