Stubhub Tix-pricier this year

If the prices are an indication, the big games won't be an easy ticket. Cheapest ticket available for 1/4/14 vs UCONN is $89. Get season tix!

If we have less than 5 losses going into that game I think ticket prices could go higher imo.

Isn't this exactly what we've always wanted ? Fill up Moody and make it a hard-to-get ticket, so that there is an actual reason to purchase season tickets....

I may be biased but there will not be a better bang for your buck in DFW sports wise than SMU basketball. Even if you have no affiliation to SMU. I bet a lot of NE transplants that grew up BE fans will show up to see high level college bball at Moody.

I just or my season tickets a few days ago and I chatted up the sales rep about their sales. She told me they had been selling about 150 season tickets a week pretty consistantly for the last 2 moths and that they are expecting a lat minute surge as people realize it's about to be basketball season. I think they have a very strong chance of sellin out their season tickets. Moody is small enough and we are the only basketball team in the metro having top 25 competition come in that I could see SMU basketball becoming a really hot ticket. I think we we go into Louisville ranked (which will make us a tournament team) you would be looking at $150 for center court tickets.

There are 9 games in moody this year and realistically I'm probably only going to be able to go to 6. My hope is SMU will be good enough this year to generate enough interest for me to pay for my season tickets by celling my off games (I will need to average $50 per to do it).

I like the sounds of that. Moody is going to be rocking again. Finally.

I bet you're right about that. This is a product that we can sell, there isn't the competition. We just need a good start to the season and market the bejaysus out of it. Can't wait.

BTW, the ticket office also chatted me up and mentioned small weekend packages (4games) for out of towners. Sounded like a good deal. I may bite.

TCU has Kansas and Baylor but we have more notable team imo.

Ticket office told me that SMU has sold over 1000 season more than the did all of last year. A few weeks ago they had eclipsed the 3000 mark.

So the ticket office has nearly sold out the sidelines (donation level), lower level is gone and they're making a very good dent on the 200 level corners/baseline. SMU was on top of their game when they brought in Legends to handle their ticket sales, those guys are the best in the business and obviously the university struggled to sell out Moody in previous years for a number of factors. But these guys know how to market it and they market it well (same guys that handle Dallas Cowboys, Stanford football, NY Yankees, ect). I know for a fact that Louisville and Connecticut will not be available to the public for single game access. That will inevitably drive up ticket prices, couple that with a newly renovated arena, great team that will have a good shot at an NCAA berth...it's the perfect storm. Like I said, these guys are the best in the business and that place will be a packed house come AAC conference season. Whether or not fans show up, different story but most games will be sold out completely.

For the record, right now they're averaging about 100 new season ticket holders per week, but it will be gearing more towards 150-200 in the next couple weeks due to a couple different things they're doing, not to correct ya, just letting you know.

I spoke with the ticket office before the Mudiay announcement and they said that they were selling about 40 to 50 per week but the week after Mudiay announced that he was coming to SMU the ticket sales went to about 200 that week. Since then they have been at about 100 or so per week. He also said that a lot of football season ticket holders were buying them because they had already paid their MC donation fee.

Yup. THIS ^^^

Nearly every seat on half-court is sold because SMU has it set up that if you donate to football, it also will apply to your basketball tickets as opposed to them being separate entities. You guys have no idea how incredibly nice that is, Ohio State is a 10K donation per seat for anywhere in the lower levels at the Schott (it's a donation that covers it a while), plus your season tickets. That donation however does not at all apply for football though. Football is 1,500 donation per year per seat, then the price of season tickets. So about $2,200 to be a season ticket holder and takes forever to get decent seats in the Horseshoe. I'd definitely lock in season tickets before that place is owned by season ticket holders.
