couch 'em wrote:The craft brew market heavily overlaps the sports market. Go to a game at AAC or the Ballpark. Craft brew sold everywhere. Every decent bar is filing up with craft brew. Go shop at while foods. Go to a brewery tour. Nothing but solid income guys age 25 to 40. What is SMU's target demographic?

I'm not sure why you think liking craft brews has to do with being a hipster. I hate hipsters so much I think they should have to pay a special tax for being so annoying and worthless and i hate taxes. The beer just tastes better bro. [deleted] hipsters
just drink what they serve and be happy. Its really that simple.

No, You are missing the point. All we are saying is if we get beer, then let's do it right. At least offer the good stuff. Man, you guys really have a totally wrong view of us that love the microbrews. Has nothing to do with being a "Hipster", we can't stand douchie-ness as much as you. How would you like it if we were railing on you and your beer preference? ..Poking at your sense of taste and style. Believe me, we could, but we haven't, because that's not the point. The point is maximize a policy. I like many that like micros and their ilk, will not dring the mass produced crap, but we don't care if you do. Without the craft, I will just stick with my Diet Coke, but at least I'm not telling people what to drink, what to like, and what kind of person they are based on their preferences.

expecting them to jump right to craft beer is silly. Of course they wont be doing that. its a college basketball game - not a pub. this is really searching for something to complain about.

Nobody has complained about anything here. I don't think anybody expects it to happen, but some of us are letting it be known that it would be great to have it. Some of you are simply put, Trying to be Beer Nazis with all this anti craft brew rhetoric. It's Effing Stupid.

Ditto. Every word ditto. And it's not as if asking for craft beer will somehow cause the whole thing to collapse so that no one gets beer. It's just not hard, not hard at all to throw a local microbrew into the mix of beers available.

its not anti-craft rhetoric. All I drink is craft beer, but this is a COLLEGE sporting event, where basically no schools serve beer. Just be happy to have anything, raise hell and [deleted] off the other team, fans and coaches. This fan base comes off as so effin soft. I'm a Maryland guy too. You have any idea how fired up that fan base would be to get anything? They wouldn't even think to complain about selection, would drink too much of it, and probably pee all over opposing fans. Can we please have a little more of that, and a little less bemoaning the fact that your belgian wheat wasn't served w/an orange slice.

Maybe they can change the hotdog mustard from French's to Grey Poupon. Just kidding and I don't even drink.

Of course in Maryland we can count Natty Boh as a craft beer.

This. Not banging on anyone for liking craft beer. Just take what they serve and be glad.

Love being able to get a pint of Natty Bo for about $2.75. Tough to beat that these days.

Here's the same argument in a different format. June Jones has rescued SMU football from oblivion, or at the very least the Sun Belt. Sure he doesn't recruit well, but just take what he does bring in and be glad. We could be much worse off.

I don't care what brand beer is sold. Once we get it up an running, we need to sell the rights to sell brew in Moody to the highest bidder.
If that means we end up selling Milwaukee's Beast and Old Style to everyone, so be it. The only consideration should be money to the program.
A game is not that long. A few bad beers won't hurt anyone.
Do unto others before they do unto you!!
