My call though, was SMU puts an extension out with lots of stipulations, that ultimately might convince him to transition out in an agreeable manner. Everybody wins! ..hopefully
Only thing is we do not know if there are any stipulations in it.

Irrelevant. If the offer is real, it is a blatant message that we are nit going to try in football, and we are on the north east basketball school model.
This is the same guy who publicly made it seem like he was going to be Maryland's next coach 48 hours before the Armed Forces Bowl when there was a snowball's chance it hell he'd actually get the job.
JJ said he wants to coach 5-7 more years. no one is going to offer him a job at $2 million. Some are saying this is some type of ploy so he can refuse to sign and we are done with him. I don't see it. I think Hart is an empty suit and SMU football will remain exactly where it is now. The fact this is even reported in the newspaper is depressing. It's over for SMU.

Well, that is the essence of our conference.

When did he say he wanted to coach 5-7 more years?

We only have 1 school in the northeast after this year. Also the schools the AAC is adding are not basketball schools so no this is not the essence of the our conference. The AAC commissioner knows that football drives the ships.
