HART/SMU SID/SMU : IPF should be #1 infrastructure priorityhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BY13Mx2_iI
Just a video about TCU's IPF...I chose it because it was in 2007 while TCU was a midmajor. They made the necessary investments in order to look good for recruits as well as provide the team safe facilities against severe weather (rain/ice/snow/cold/heat etc.) Gosselin was right. We need to build an IPF and get up to par with Big 12. Only by having facilities and performing like a Big 12 school will get us in. Enough half arseing...let's get to work! Fundraisers, donors, university money, we need this! Last edited by feelthehorsepower on Sat Dec 07, 2013 9:27 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Re: HART/SMU SID/SMU : Indoor Practice Facility should be #1Trollololololol with all your big XII crap.

Re: HART/SMU SID/SMU : Indoor Practice Facility should be #1
Do you ever offer any suggestions apart from trying to tear down any of my posts and not offer any alternative to being better than the rut we are stuck in?
Re: HART/SMU SID/SMU : Indoor Practice Facility should be #1
I do so frequently. They usually involve hiring a different coaching staff, recruiting even decently, and winning football games instead of focusing on silly marketing ploys that don't really make a difference. Yeah we need an IPF, but if you understood anything about college football, which you admit you really don't, you'd know we will never ever ever ever ever be in the big XII. It would only happen if it became the new AAC which means it's still not the Big XII BOP - Providing insensitivity training for a politically correct world since 1989.
Re: HART/SMU SID/SMU : Indoor Practice Facility should be #1It was #1 at the end of the Orsini era. Now it's not.
Re: HART/SMU SID/SMU : Indoor Practice Facility should be #1After June turned up his nose at a facility that wasn't near the stadium, I bet we're just waiting for a non-diva coach to agree to build one across Central.
Re: HART/SMU SID/SMU : Indoor Practice Facility should be #1Can you someone post what June said about the location of the IPF? I don't recall how that went down.
Sent from my Motorola brick.
Re: HART/SMU SID/SMU : Indoor Practice Facility should be #1
It was going to be built across the street and he felt it would be unsafe for players to cross the street. Someone added that he could have suggested that SMU build a walkway if he felt that strongly about it. #HammerDown
Re: HART/SMU SID/SMU : Indoor Practice Facility should be #1IPF is nowhere near the #1 priority for this program
Re: HART/SMU SID/SMU : Indoor Practice Facility should be #1
I talked to Hart about it at one of the road games and remember him saying they wanted to build the IPF where Wescott is now, but that's going to mean building a new Olympic Sports Complex across Central. I can certainly understand JJ wanting the football empire all in one spot and I'd also like to see sparkling new 1st class soccer and swim facilities. Anyone got a spare $100 mil to donate?
Re: HART/SMU SID/SMU : Indoor Practice Facility should be #1
I say Big 12 because it is the conference we compete with for recruits. We will never get Big 12 caliber recruits if we cannot meet/exceed B12 facilities at least. It is one of the things we can change. We are a better fit for Big Ten or ACC because neither has a Texas team and it would be a benefit for them to have a foothold here with a solid Basketball and Football programs, so that's where we should really aim. We need to provide TV market and the way we do that is by showing we have butts in seats and high rated games, which would be good since we would be the only Texas team to bring Big Ten/ACC teams to play here which would be exciting to watch. The way we get butts in seats is winning. Winning we get by getting a coaching staff that can recruit and win in the field. The way we get better recruits is by getting facilities on par with Big 12. Which means: IPF, renovated/expanded stadium with 50k at least. Those marketing ploys do make a difference blackoutpony
Re: HART/SMU SID/SMU : Indoor Practice Facility should be #1Read recent SI article on Stanford vs Oregon comparison (one with Oregon QB on cover).
Stanford people specifically site building of their IPF and facilities upgrade as reason turned things around.
Re: HART/SMU SID/SMU : Indoor Practice Facility should be #1Coaching, coaching, coaching.
BU will never be good recruiting to Waco. Wait Art Briles brought the players in and built a # 5 team TTU can't recruit to Lubbock but same thing Leach takes them to top 10 status. Crum Center was going to revolutionize SMU hoops - yet Doh fielded some of the worst teams in SMU history. We need a head coach who doesn't brag about winning the games when he had " equal" talent. How lame is that! We only beat teams in the bottom 75 percentile and yet that is seen as positive. We don't need an IPF - it would be nice trinket - but the coach will determine our fate. Which is why they make so much money. Pony 81
Re: HART/SMU SID/SMU : Indoor Practice Facility should be #1
Had nothing to do with harbaugh... June is no Harbaugh, FYI. June is about as good of a coach / recruiter as Hal mumme, and you remember how people reacted when Mumme was brought in. The gimmicks make up for the fact that Jones run programs have major, fundamental flaws. It's time for him to go.
Re: HART/SMU SID/SMU : Indoor Practice Facility should be #1
If that is the case then it was derilict of Jones to turn one down because he felt the players should not have to cross the road. All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
