I agree that cheating is rampant in college athletics.

But that doesn’t explain Bennett’s success the first 2 years of recruiting versus these last two.

well, the few kids that would play by the rules and be interested in helping a team recover would have been excited by the idea of a new coach. Hence, the recruits we got the first two years. Unfortunatley for us and Bennett, there hasn't been much (if anything) to show in the three seasons that Bennett has been head coach. Most kids, are going to look at that and say, well he has the enthusiasm, and probably the support of the administration, but he hasn't been able to produce on the field, and while he is at the helm it won't get better. This is why it is IMPERATIVE for Bennett to have a successful year, and it really helps that we have an even easier schedule this year. If he can begin to win games that can change.....I just hope it isn't too late for him.

well, if Bennetts first two classes really were good, we should see some results on the field the next two seasons and that should lead to a new boost in recruiting. Thats the hope right now.

The problem CP is we are not debating guys with a 'half a dozen' BCS offers. How about 1 quality BCS offer? How about quality non-BCS offers?

Per Ponyfans, here is a list of last years' class who received BCS offers:

David Allison – Colorado, Syracuse, Baylor
Clayton Cox – Baylor
Bryce Hudman – Iowa State
Emmanuel Sanders- Kansas and Baylor
Emerson Settle - Kansas

That is a substantial drop-off from the prior 2 years...

IMO, Mitch Enright has looked good early. He may be the 'Sleeper' steal of this class. And Columbus Givens looks to be a helluva athlete.

I like what I see better than what I read previously.

Uh...no. If you buy all of your stocks because they just dropped 50% ("undervalued"), you are gonna be buying a lot of potentially bankrupt stocks, or ones that make little profits.

Its good to hit on a few...but let's face it...Jerry has been trading down in the draft for so many years, he didn't have any quality picks...

What hurt Jerry is that guys like Erik Williams that he 'reached' on panned out...but he kept reaching and reaching. Eventually, you aren't going to be able to pick all of the 'sleepers', and your team will suck.

This is clearly the make or break year for Coach Bennett. Another 3-8 season, and he will be signing players that no one wants as Stallion aluded to last week. The Coach and players need to step up this year and show everyone that we are turning the corner. Its not too late, but another bad season and it will be too late.
