If you are a student or alum, attending games is a given, whether JJ or anyone else is head coach. The Mustangs on the field are and will always be our team and withholding support makes no sense.

Yeah what better way to show the administration that you are frustrated and won't put up with mediocrity than continuing to fork over your money and time to them. That'll show 'em!

Having a home field advantage is helpful for our team. And it also helps our chances at going BCS.

Turner is going nowhere. I found the report on this other thread extremely interesting: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=69787

Applicants are up by more than 200%, the university is on solid financial footing, the mean SAT is up by around 200 points and SMU is climbing the rankings. In all the measures that the Board cares about, RGT is doing an outstanding job.

2013 may have been a disappointment on the football field, but that's just a blip on the timeline with 4 bowls in 6 years and Larry Brown now garnering Top 25 votes.

As a Ken Pye era survivor and after seeing RGT cheering at numerous athletic events over the years, I don't have any issues with him. Changes haven't been made as quickly as I might like, but I look at the direction we're headed now as compared to where we were when RGT took office, and it's like night and day. SMU is like a big ship. They carry a lot of momentum and take awhile to change to a new course.

Turner must be one hell of a masochist if he hates athletics given how much of his life he's spent sitting in Moody Coliseum for SMU hoops.

Bless his heart. Did no one tell him they were playing in Garland this year?

He knew that - he just wanted to be sure and not miss the 'grand opening' of Moody when we play on 1/4.

However, if your minister is always looking for a different church to move to, doesn't prepare his sermons, is totally emotionless and rarely ever interacts with the people of his parish then I suspect the church board would have him replaced. Right??? Not so in our case. Our admin decides to give our lazy, non-recruiting charlatan another agmt for 3 more yrs.

Not disagreeing....Just saying I don't stop tithing. The sum is greater than the parts.

Mmm, the ministry isn't really the equivalent of the head coach, more of an assistant coach. If you are a Methodist and the church hierarchy suddenly stopped doing what is needed to 'win' the game of salvation, you would switch churches or just quit.

Interesting comments on this thread....good thoughts from all. Didn't the provosts report show 14,100 SMU applications in 2013 and only 1,400 in the acceptance class? Where do the ratios come from then?
