Setting The Mood in MoodyOne of the biggest differences in Moody is lowering the lighting in the stands. I think I like it but noticed it was harder to read my program. Is that for TV, to sharpen electronic displays, shooting -or what are the benefits-just setting the Mood. Maybe something I hadn't thought of.

Re: Setting The Mood in MoodyI first notice this when I attended a Lakers game at Staples. They called it "theatre lighting" and I believe MSG was the first arena to do it at Knicks games. It's supposed to bring a Broadway show type feel to the court.

Re: Setting The Mood in MoodyI noticed the difference too and I liked it.
It something that a few professional arenas do (Staples Center and Madison Square Garden for example) and I think the purpose is to make the court be the focus and feel more like a 'stage' to highlight the game. I was sitting in the lower bowl and it was pretty much impossible to distinguish faces of people sitting in the upper bowl because of the stark contrast in lighting. As long as it doesn't negatively affect the players, I'm all for it.
Re: Setting The Mood in MoodyI like it. Really makes the LED screens pop
Re: Setting The Mood in MoodySomeone needs to buy the band a really big Drum.
Do unto others before they do unto you!!
Re: Setting The Mood in MoodyIt will also help when we only have 4-5K in the stands, won't stand out as much on the espn......
Re: Setting The Mood in Moody
Had the same thought. I've always liked the way Staples looks on tv and we had a similar feel. Puts all the focus on the court. Only downfall is students behind the basket and the band aren't 'hi-lighted' as much.
Re: Setting The Mood in MoodyAnyone else notice the immediate energy that entered the building when the lights were dimmed? There was a feeling that something really special was about to occur. Which it did. I can't say enough about the gameday presentation from that game. Felt big time because it was big time.
Re: Setting The Mood in Moody
There really was a different feeling to it. I felt like I wasn't even at a SMU sporting event it was so well done. Our PA announcer is fantastic by the way
