For example, I was definitely in on the Chris Herren chants (he deserved it -- he was kicking our [deleted] and was a big time [deleted] at the time . . . I also was part of giving the Arky team with Corliss Williamson an earful because they had some Memphis guys on their teams who, at the time, I felt were thugs).

So, I say be as nasty as you can against the Houstons, TCwhos, aTms, etc etc. But, respect the solid team. (Be LOUD but no reason to say nasty things against a team we don't have a history against, etc).

As far as I'm concerned, Houston and Memphis are fair game (as will Tulane be next year). Eff those schools.

Talked a lot when played + Arkansas Game/Fresno Game = ???

Ojaipony = one of two people... did you hold SMU Frosh record for 3 pointers?

I can still remember Troy M beating on the Moody Floor on Defense against Arkansas when we had pushed those guys to the limit. Loudest I had ever heard Moody at that time...

Troy M and J Rich were a fun tandem to watch along with Erion, Jabari, and Poerner. I loved that Poerner would not hesitate to crank the three from the top of the key. Actually, none of them would hesitate to crank a three. Was fun to watch. Nothing against Dement or Shu, but if Larry Brown and Co. coached that set of players, I bet things would have gone a little different in the W/L column.

I'm pretty sure he meant during the starting lineup. Hell, LB coached in Philly and Detroit, he's used to fans booing.

Other fans should set good examples for the students though, right?

He said at the introduction of the players. I would say after that all is fair.

booing during intros is for idiots. After the intro the gloves are off and the goal is to get under their skin as best you can and distract them in any way possible. Usually that means figuring out something personal (mom or girlfriends name) and totally wearing them out with that.

nobody ever booed without seeming stupider for it. Its very pedestrian and kind of yankee-ish.

Do what you want, it's a game, just be loud and aggressive. Your use of Yankee and thoughts on booing deserve an eff you, as obf suggested. Cheer sheet driven garbage is for softies

I got a hundo on a "suggestion" being passed along from the administration for Brown to say something about booing... That's not a comment I've ever heard him make, not even remotely close. The guy coached AI for crying out loud, does it get any worse? That guy didn't even like practice...

You may be right about that, but it certainly isn't uncommon for college coaches to ask students to tone things down pre- and post-game. I've heard similar statements from MIke Krysewski, Tom Izzo, and John Calipari in the past. (Probably quite a few others, too.) That said, I've never heard a coach discourage "rowdiness" between the buzzers and I think that's when it really matters anyway.
