Tim Cowlishaw on Espn Dallas, pro SMU

Postby PonyKris89 » Mon Jan 13, 2014 7:12 pm

On the Cowlishaw and Moseley Show, Tim Cowlishaw brought up SMU basketball, LB.
Said that he flipped between SMU and Football on Sunday. Likes what he sees and said they need to get out to New Moody for some games. Said they have a shot at NCAAs this year after Moseley said they have a shot next year. Mosley had a stop watch on Tim when he started talking SMU, kinda prodding him for next segment(Mosely is a Baylor guy), but then Moseley actually chimed in with some positives. Both of them are on board with trips to New Moody, and both pined for the old days of SMU basketball...

They even mentioned former SMU sharp shooter David Peeler, apparently the HC at Highland Park.

Bring on the good pub.

unreal. That is great. When you have guys like Cowlishaw noticing things...we are turning the corner.
Mosley is a chump. baylor through and through with no objectivity. Similar to Engel for TCU.

Yeah I know, ESPN does not know what a rating point is, the Ticket craps rating points…

But still nice. And Moseley did admit, SMU has Baylor beat on the beer thing… and they both agreed they should make it to some games this year. All good.

Stupid comment. Sorry but just is. Do you realize he writes for the DMN and does a national TV show on ESPN. It all matters.

I didn't know Cowlishaw has a national show, so EVEN better!

I know he has a long history in Dallas as a columnist and beat writer for some of the pro teams.
I believe he even mentioned that he was at one time covered SMU as a beat reporter too.

He is on Around the Horn on ESPN so I should have said he is in a national show, but having a guy from Dallas who acknowledged our change in fortune is a very good thing.

I watch it every now and again. It's a bunch of Sports reporters from around the country shooting opinions on sports topics of the day. Good to have him know about what's going on at SMU when we are a unknown quantity outside a few hoops insiders is very good indeed.

Didn't remember him covering SMU. Wonder when that was?

I watch Around the Horn sometimes, but I never seek it out. Guess I might start watching for him, especially as SMU BBall makes more noise.

David Piehler has been at HP several years with much success. Good guy, good player, good coach. He was on the court for the opening ceremony before the UCONN game.

Cowlishaw is on it a lot and has been for over 10 years

I do realize. Call me when he mentions it on ath or in the dmn. Until then, it's hardly a big deal to get mentioned on the 33rd best afternoon drive show in dfw.

Just is.

ESPN radio is the only station that talks about actual sports, so the fact that they talk about us is big. Ratings matter in radio, but hearing the Ticket idiots talk about sports is like hearing Pauly Shore discuss Shakespeare.
