I think it is just simple communication that is needed. I think everything will be fine for the Rutgers game.

Get over your holier than thou, SMU attitudes. You're acting so entitled that you're trying to dictate the clothes that our students wear to games. Most of you would've rejoiced last year at the sight of half that many guys from a frat coming and just because we have games on TV now and beat UConn once, you decide to knit pick the crap out of it.

You think LB cares? Hell no, he's happy to see that they showed up, especially after he reached out to ask for support. Some of you need to stop trying to be such control freaks

Red and blue SAE jerseys. Then they look like they are supporting SMU AND get credit for being great fans. Simple.

Fine by me. That's what Sig Ep used to have. If sig ep was still around and wore their jerseys, would anyone complain?

I really don't care what anyone wears is my whole point, and for anyone else to is silly. We're building a fan base right now, being knit picky isn't exactly conducive to being inclusive at this point.

I hear what you are saying BOP but then not caring at all would possibly be to the opposite extreme. Nothing wrong with healthy dialogue so the eventually everyone is on the same page. It can be done in a diplomatic way and we all can be rocking on national tv. :D

Requiring a pledge class to attend one game is not "building a fan-base", get over yourselves...attend every home game with at least 50% of your chapter, then you can crow about helping "build a fan base". Completely do-able but has never been done.

Well it's better than nothing. You never know how many of them will come back on their own just because they had fun.

I know that last year they gave out SERC points (which you need to throw registered parties) of a certain percent of your chapter was at the game, so at least IFC is trying.

I propose a compromise: Designate 1 game per year as IFC pledge night. On that night, all IFC pledges go to the game and wear their jerseys with whatever colors they are. It would be something that is unique to SMU and could spawn cheering competition between each fraternity's PC.

On all nights except IFC pledge night, actives and pledges who attend either wear SMU gear or frat gear in SMU colors.

BigT3x - ive come to appreciate it actually. Having an arena full of students who are giant D's is a huge benefit to your home court advantage. Just ask Duke.

I don't understand this line of thinking. It's kind of like the argument that JJ got us to bowl games so we shouldn't expect more.

I was never in a frat and I don't hate on the experience but when any organization becomes bigger/more important than your school, that seems misguided. I looked up some of the national schools (public and private) where Greek life is huge and got pics of their student sections at bball games.

Notice anything in common? We claim to try to be "top 25" in everything we do, but you want us to wear school colors to a sporting event? Please, we're SMU.

Yeah, I expect more. I also appreciate those that attend.

Look, if the SAE's were allowed to wear their uni's, we would have had people in the stands.

Tuesday is now "wear your purple" pride night in support of the SAE's right to choose.

Review the acceptable SMU Traditions here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBhQxBaNnAo

(Note: the Boulevard was a 2000 addition, so technically, it is not acceptable, since it's new).

Hades, last year if the SAE (or any Frat) pledge class showed up it would have triple the number of students at the game! It’s a testament regardless of fashion statements that they are showing to games now.
