I have to agree with you there. McDonald's is the best imo.

When you consider that about 30% of our student body is from California then yes a promotion for In-N-Out is a fantastic idea.
Back off Warchild seriously.

I think Rick had some good football ideas as well- the $19.83 ticket promo for the Rutgers game with the throwback jerseys, free admission for anyone who braved the elements at the UCF game, etc. Football is an uphill climb because of competition for entertainment on Saturday afternoons in DFW and even if we drew a sellout crowd at Moody into Ford it would be 1/4 full. I've never understood the disdain some on PF have for Rick- marketing and in-game presentation have improved 5,000x since he came on board
Why did you open that can of worms. You are talking about two different things. I can't remember anyone bashing him about marketing. It is other areas. Or are you just being a incendiary on purpose? The thread was going well until you derailed it. If the football team had a promising future and was exciting they would have good crowds as well imo. By the way when was the last time Moody was sold out since it is so easy to do?
UConn game two weeks ago And if you're upset at him for the June extension, then you're being ignorant, as I explained above.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's higher than that. I was surrounded by cali bros wearing vans, beanies, and plenty of plaid while I was at SMU. Oh and nice looking blonde ladies.

30% seems high, I thought it was around 20 but I could be wrong.

This could be a good research project. I am actually interested in knowing the answer

They do it in Moody too but you are probably getting a beer when they do it
but have they given free Waterburger coupons to winning section?

Sorry, I meant before this year. Not blaming him for the extension because I understand the circumstances. But if his attitude towards recruiting is similar to June's as another poster indicated that the told them then I am concerned. But as far as marketing I have to give it to him.

When Klemm was here he stated in an interview that is was about 30% and that was one of the ways he was able to attract Cali kids because they had so many already at SMU.

as for % of Cali's - I am going to guess we are not at 30% - but probably not that far below that - 22-25% would be my guess.

Would love to see us schedule some Cali teams home-and-home in football and basketball.

Or at least some West Coat teams. Oregon, Washington or Cal would be nice in hoops.

If its not 30% then its really close to that. Also, that will likely continue to rise. SMU spends a boatload of money recruiting and investing in the recruitment of Californians. We could have an incoming class of 1,500 well qualified kids from only California every year.
