Jason Phillips
In response to recent talk about Jason Phillips' future, I asked around about him. I was told he remains on staff, he is expected back in 2014 and was with June Jones Tuesday on an in-home recruiting visit.

I'm surprised June was willing to have Phillips come over to his house (room at the Hyatt) and actually talk about recruiting

Did Junesus really go on an in-home recruiting visit? No wonder it was 4 degrees outside this morning at my house

Nate Gaines considering UTSA, who else?
The idea that we could lose a recruit to UTSA is just preposterous

First they don't recruit enough. Now we're not supposed to believe it when they are?
Keeping Phillips is a good thing, and having him out on the trail with JJ is a good thing. Chances are we'll lose someone and steal someone. It happens at this time of year.

Let's just hope JJ can develop more of a relationship with local high school coaches.

UTSA was at the entire Poteet-HP basketball game last night plus stayed around post game and talked to some kids, but that's how much they want Gaines.

Re: Jason Phillips
You are ripping on the one coach whom everyone agrees is our most aggressive recruiter?
Re: Jason Phillips
I have lost any bit of interest that I could have had in this season when Mumme left.
Whether we have Phillips for 1 more year or not is not going to have a long term effect on this program. I'm looking at the big picture. This season is a lost cause already.
