This is unbelievable! Seriously? I cannot think of any Head Football Coach who would be on vacation this time of year with Signing Day fast approaching. I wish that we could fire him today!

Who in the SMU Administration thinks that this is the right time for a vacation? We have recruits decommiting, other possible recruits interested in SMU and our head coach is on vacation? Do you think that Nick Saban, Urban Myer, Kevin Sumlin, Art Briles or any other big time coach would dare be out of pocket in Hawaii this time of year? The fact that the COC or the SMU Administration powers that be (whoever that is) allow this to go on is embarrasing. This really is beyond rediculous!

With actions like this there is no commitment to football at SMU. It is a sad day.

No need to compare the two since they are in different stratospheres, but LB was flying across the country between games to attend a game for a 2015 recruit.

When can we build an LB statue? Maybe we can name a portapotty after june or something for the few of you who want to commemorate him.

Yep, impressive young man who also had some SEC schools talking to him. Ridiculous if we didn't at least reach out to him so close to our campus. New staff that eventually comes on board will have a lot of repair and catch up work to do with local coaches and high schools.

Jones is just sticking it to SMU at this point. I seriously don't understand how anyone can accept this. Hart must have no cajones if he continually lets jones get away with this. Jones is robbing us at this point, and smiling while he does it.

This. There's no sense whatsoever in expending additional energy over this.

- He's at SMU for one more year.
- He's not going to close on this #90 2014 class.
- 2015 will be worse.
- He'll get replaced next year.
- Next coach will need 2-3 years to undo what June did in 2014/2015.

This is all known. Why spend your limited time on Earth recycling bull$hit that reinforces what you already know? It will not change a single item from above.

june is daring S.M.U. to fire him, then he can just stay in Hawaii and collect his check.

I know how much June likes the Polynesian culture and that is probably why he was at the Polynesian Hall of Fame event this weekend in Hawaii but it does not look good to do during one of the heaviest parts of recruiting season considering he was at a college all star game the week before that was not a dead period.

Hell he'll probably just throw an offer to some Polynesian, Hawaiian or Friend of June to cover his [deleted].

Maybe someone can explain this to me? I will admit that I do not understand all the legalities here, but what is really preventing SMU from firing June Jones? We all know that he is not doing his job. On the same day we lose one of our top commitments and others are wavering he is in Hawaii?

I am guessing that his contract is a guaranteed contract. Does that really mean that he can go off and do whatever he wants whenever he wants? Really? Isn't there anything in his contract that spells out job responsibilities? Doesn't SMU have just cause to fire June Jones?

Why can't Hart, Turner, the COC, or whoever have a backbone and not allow this to go on at SMU? Fire him. Given that I am not in the know, but I don't see this happening at any other football program in the nation right now. We all talk about the importance of having a reputable football program that we can be proud of. By allowing this to go on, how is SMU showing any true commitment to football?

If they keep him, they owe him $3m and the assistants $x. If they fire him, they still owe that money. But, they probably need an additional $4-5m per year for new coach and a good staff.

They don't have anyone willing to write all those checks b/c AAC money is not enough.
