Does anyone really know what Hart's relationship is with/to JJ? Hart may be young, but he has been an AD before SMU. Is he allowed to discipline his coaches? Does he have the authority to call JJ back from his non-SMU junkets?

All Casper jokes aside... Does anyone really know? If he doesn't have the actual authority, he should be updating his resume and moving down the road. This is a no win situation for him - having the responsibility but not the authority. He should leave SMU high and dry. If he does have the authority and isn't exercising it at this time, he should be fired for gross incompetence. So what is the real story? Does anyone know the unmitigated truth?

the truth is that casper is merely a yes man for rgt, hence whatever jj does is ok since rgt's motto is medocrity in everything we do and he especially could care less about fball when he has new building to build and non-SMU board meetings to attend.

If that is the case he should be interviewing for new jobs. It is only a matter of time until he has zero credibility in the job market or becomes a sacrificial lamb for an upset big $ booster. What would he have then?

A "Yes Man" is always the easiest employee to find and even easier to replace.

GC- really don't plan on posting of the fb board but some things just can't go unsaid. I think this is my second post on fb since the first of Jan.. The other was about HB Pony Dad. :(

We were very fortunate that we got a call from Daniel Gresham.

Quote from an interview with Gresham. Gresham and his high school coaches decided to make calls to non-BCS programs to get an idea of what schools were interested. SMU happened to be one of them.

“It was a spur of the moment thing. When I talked to the SMU coaches, they told me they saw my tape and were interested early on, but they didn’t think they had a chance at me because of my offers so they never got in contact with me,” Gresham said. “But with everything out of whack, they said they were definitely still interested in me.”

That's hysterical. We didn't call you, or even try to land you, because that would require us to out-work other programs. But now that you don't have a home and totally called us, that's great! Let's grab some dinner! Just send us your VHS highlight tape and we'll be good to go.

Get over it. He went to some Polynesian Football Hall of Fame thing, and we all know how Polynesian players have factored in his career, and apparently it was a very quick trip. He can't grab a meal while he's there? There are a lot of reasons to criticize, but this just feels like criticism for the sake of criticism.

It's called perception. When you've been here 7 years, and you can't/won't recruit, people think you don't want to be here and that you refuse to recruit, and in the middle of one of the most important recruiting stretches you're thousands of miles away from your recruiting base, and numerous other fan bases/recruiting sites note it and blast him/SMU for it...than yeah, that's fair criticism. Either he's too stubborn or too stupid to know it looks really, really bad, and if he gives half a sh*t about remaining employed here for more than a year, he'd care about perception.

It was his 3rd trip in 3 weeks-in JANUARY a prime recruiting period for both 2014 and 2015-Hawaii ain't just around the corner. You simply don't understand the expectations for a Division 1A Head Football Coach if you don't understand this is completely outside the expected norms of his profession

So that makes it it okay for him to goof off while the competition is out recruiting? Might want to think about that the next time those teams beat the crap out of us on the field.

To be honest we can't say it was a quick trip. He left around Thursday and came back Sunday or Monday. That combined with being out all of the previous week at the East West Shrine game means he has only had about 3 days to go out and recruit in that 2 week time period. I can understand the concern.
