Expect To Hear A Lot of Transfers/Departures

Postby StallionsModelT » Wed Feb 05, 2014 10:01 am

Hearing that we can expect 8-10 kids currently on scholarship to be leaving the program.
Back off Warchild seriously.

Well its simple math. SMU has 15 seniors on scholarship this year and will sign (by all accounts) a full class of 25.

Pretty obvious this was going to happen when we started loading up on kids late. Probably going to end up decimating what little depth we have.

That should give the hard core JJ supporters the "this team is young" excuse now. It could buy June a couple of more years. Excellent strategy imo.

Maybe this way he can always be 1 and a half recruiting classes away since he purges 30% of the kids he recruits every other year.

So June is then blowing up and rebuilding his own rebuild after blowing up and rebuilding when he got here. Progress baby!

Let's see, losing a RB that couldn't make it in the Big 12, hang on to the ball in the AAC and is trying the NFL; a kicker that shanked the ball two out of every five attempts; a QB that is injured and still believes he can play; two more at the bottom of the depth chart and a couple of more graduating early? Sure, let's keep 'em all! You guys would make a hell of a jury, why don't you get the facts first rather than relying on what someone "heard".

Didn't June recruit all those guys? Also you need to list 5 more to get to the number we need to get to the 25 we signed.

It's actually part of June's plan so he can kill more babies and kittens.

Actually if it was 15 seniors on scholarship that is a pretty good total these days. I think Texas had 7. If it is a small number of your original 20 or so you sign out of high school then that is generally not a good sign that it was a strong group. Medical scholarships, guys leaving due to academics or not being good enough to contribute reflects on poor recruiting. On the other hand, if the older guys are being pushed down the depth chart and transfer for paying time due to younger guys being recruited who are better players....that is actually a good thing. Not the case here. when UT was winning they were keeping guys in the program all 4 or 5 years even if they weren't playing. when you sell your soul to the recruiting devil and start going for physical specimens with no character or heart then eventually you pay the price.

If you are going to get on his case for recruiting diamond in the rough players, then at least give him credit for opening up the scholarships when some don't work out ;).
