Crandall Head

Postby CalallenStang » Sun Feb 09, 2014 7:10 pm

I've been very critical of Crandall Head this year, but he had a nice game against Cincy and provided some great plays when we needed them.

Well done, Crandall!

He really added a spark. Hopefully it's a indication of his future.

He really surprised me with his defense. I can see where Brown said it makes him upset regarding minutes. With Shawn and Nick gone, there will be a few more to give but not much.

For what purpose does it serve to be "very critical" of a student-athlete? Make you feel big inside?

Yeah Crandall played his best game of the year last year. He played excellent defense on Kilpatrick and it was nice to see him get involved on the offensive end. Can never have too many ball stoppers.

Also did anyone else find it strange that Ryan didn't play at all?

From what I have read, Crandall has been one of our best "practice" players. I sure this has earned him playing time.

Are fans not allowed to say "he makes too many bone-headed turnovers, why is he on the court?" on a message board? Lame.

GRGB was exposed earlier today so now he is trying anything to gain back his status on the board. Unfortunately, he is digging himself in a deeper hole.

I will praise and criticize as I see fit as a fan of SMU. This is a discussion board, not a board to blow smoke up people's [Gary Pattersons].

What purpose does it serve?

Does it make him better?

Does it make LB coach better?

Does it inspire new recruits to want to attend smu and be subject to PF?

Does it make you feel like a man?

It serves the purpose of talking about the team and its performance, including the performance of the athletes that make up the team.

Regarding point 4, you'll read far worse criticisms of players on the basketball message boards at Duke, KU, Ohio State, Kentucky, etc. Doesn't seem to negatively affect their recruiting at all. So don't worry about that, Bickle.

I rebutted your lame "exposure". Anyone can pick apart and parse words, and without context.

No one says you cannot praise and criticize, but you don't have to be personal as to the student-athletes. Again, does it make you feel like more of a man to put someone down that you, yourself could not possibly do?

What about sports writers? are they eligible to critique and criticize player performances. No one criticized him as a person only his play. It is real silly to come on a fan board and ask folks not to comment on players or coaches. It is a part of sports.

Your post is one of the most ridiculous things I've read lately. And that is saying something when I've read a number of FTHP posts.

Which is to say, no purpose but to stroke your arrogant ego.

Regarding your comment to point 4, you must live by 2 wrongs make a right.
