Sounds like a winning package deal, but I don't know how Mickey fits into LB's scheme although that is still 2 years away. We need Mike here now!

Disclaimer: I know nothing of how this kid did this year at Ohio State. Having said that, I wonder what is the real reason for the transfer. Family health problems is the number one reason given for any transfer and we all know that is rarely the case. Playing time, maturity issues, lack of competitive fire?????

Would have to think TCU would be the heavy favorite here- close to home and in the Big 12...unless he and his bball recruit brother are a package deal

The reviews are pretty positive. There are the expected questions as to wether he was going to play, or if the coaches used him correctly, but as a general statement they had a good opinion of him. That being said, just because he wasn't expected to crack the starting lineup at OSU as a freshman doesn't mean he can't be a monster here.

Posters over at KillerFrogs saying they're hearing he'll transfer to SMU:

Wow, what a huge need he could fill at the inside LB spot. Was one of the big question marks for our defense in 2014 with Rambo graduating and Pope possibly moving to RB or not having any eligibility left

Say what you will about June's recruiting of HS prospects, he and the staff have sure done some interesting work with transfers.

how do you know that June's staff did anything but take a phone call. And perhaps the phone call came from Larry's office since Mickey's teammates have been recent visitors to SMU

I swear Jones uses transfers the way NFL coaches use free agents - McNeal, GG, Shead, Ashcraft, possibly Mitchell.

But yes, that is no way to build a successful program.

Mike's bio said his dad played with the Atlanta Falcons. I wonder if JJ has a relationship there. This could be HUGE IMHO.

Will be very interesting to see how this all plays out.
