Just waiting on Mexmustang to answer this question. By the way, USF doesn't have an IPF either.

"How did USF get 25 recruits with BCS offers while having a worse year than SMU and in the same conference?"

June is a good coach but not a high performer type. He makes at or near a top 25 college salary.... which is what, top 50, top 75 in the world? Well above top 1% for his profession. We aren't getting that performance. We have a midlevel manager who is too close with his underlings and wants to go home at 5:00 every day. He is not amd will never be the Larry Brown CEO type, find yhe best staff, no work/life balance desired, true expert in his field that we need in football at this level.

JJ is an arrogant man w/a huge ego and it seems he has expected "recruits" to flock to him just b/c he is JJ. LB actually gets out & recruits. I've never seen anything where JJ has reached out to the student body & I love seeing the communication from LB to the students. Comparing JJ to LB is really comparing apples to oranges.....there is NO comparison.

Or how can Larry Brown AND (not OR) one of his staff of 3 personally contact half of the National Top 100 across the country , personally scout at games and practices 30-40% of the National Top 100 across the country , while neither June Jones nor his staff of 10 have any presence at the major recruiting hotspots within 25 miles of campus. At any one time Larry Brown and staff of 3 are actively recruiting on a weekly/routine basis 40-50 players in the Class of 2014, 2015 and 2016 while recruits in the Class of 2014 for June and his staff of 9 routinely report poor communication and the recruits in the Class of 2015 routinely report never having had any personal contact with an SMU coach. Get rid of this clown who is stealing SMU's money

That is a nutshell is the difference in NCAA athletics between Larry Brown and staff and June Jones and staff-and the difference between national competitiveness and mediocrity

LB "if I don't screw em up we should be pre good" and "smu is a special place" and "I would have walked there to get the job" and "we can get the kinds of players Kansas and Kentucky have"

JJ "everywhere we've been it takes awhile for things to click but we do what we do" then "they need to decide If they want to compete" then "the lights aren't right" then "we are 1.5 classes away from competing on the highest level" then "look at all these starters. .The guy who recruited all the new highly rated guys recruited none of them"

JJ does not believe in recruiting in the manner which you describe. I don't think he's right but he gets to make that choice. I have great respect for JJ as a teacher of the game and his approach is good for the sport in my opinion. The personal attacks that litter this site are a disgrace.

I am not going to rehash the fundamental differences between basketball and football. But he students are an integral part of moody. The same is not true of Ford. And Larry has a son at SMU. But June could have done more directly with the students, that is true.

I just want to enjoy basketball season and bask in LB and his national success with this team. I couldn't love the guy more.

Football will be waiting when all this is over.

It may not be as much of a laziness problem as it is a methodology problem. The USF coach not only watch film but he also visits the surrounding local high schools and has obviously developed a good relationship with them. Those local high school coaches help you. If June started doing more of that then I believe he would see better results.

I'll personally attack his lazy [deleted] until he is run out of here. If you don't understand this simple fact (ie that June Jones and his staff have failed to satisfactorily perform this essential obligation of their contracts) then you don't understand college football

IDK when you refuse to get out of your office and cull one of the nation's talent-hotbeds in your own back yard...I'm thinking it's more laziness. But I agree with the idea that we should keep this side football sludge free. Sorry, I contributed to the mess.

The pressure IS on June. Larry's in the Penthouse, while June's in the Outhouse. We'll see what he can do come fall. He might hear a chant of Left Right, Left Right, Left Right!

Can't understand why JJ has such an ego........the guy hasn't won anything..........anywhere! LB comes across very humble.....but if a coach deserves to have an ego, it's definitely him.

Are you suggesting that the word "satisfactorily" appears in JJ's contract pertaining to recruiting? Laughable.

JJ has not left one scholarship unfilled that I am aware of. I know you have your version of what recruiting is, what it entails, and how it should be done, but that doesn't mean JJ shares your view. Nor, amazingly enough, does or should he have to.

You live and die recruiting, I get it, and I respect it, but there is more than one way to skin a cat.
