SMU (21-6) at No. 21 UConn (21-5)

Sunday, 2 p.m., CBS Sports Network

SMU has done a good job building an NCAA tournament-worthy resume, but the one gaping hole is a signature road win. That is unlikely to happen here: The Huskies will be itching to avenge their Jan. 4 loss to SMU in Dallas. Shabazz Napier has played as well as any guard in America, but lately the Huskies have gotten a nice lift from 6-foot junior Ryan Boatright, who over his last two games has averaged 17.5 points while converting a combined 14-for-16 from the foul line.

UConn 79, SMU 72

Except that he can't shoot a lick and is surrounded by a team who can't shoot. Oh Joe Dumars

I watched the Pepperdine/LMU game last night (no secret I like the WCC games) and they had the WCC prez on who is a member of the selection committee. He said the first thing he looks at with bubble teams is SOS and quality road wins. We really need to win one of our last two road against UConn and Memphis.

I meant coming out of HS. I don't think he has the work ethic to be a star in the NBA.

yeah it would be great to get a huge road win, but its sort of funny how that is now our fatal flaw. So, Duke has one, count em one, road win over a top 25, at Pitt. Same with Virginia, just one at Pitt. Something tells me Pitt should be a bit suspect as bubble team given that home weakness. Louisville has only one too, at Uconn, plus they have a bad home losses to Memphis and Cincy (that we don't have by the way, no home losses!!), but somehow they are all Top 10 teams and probably #2 or #3 seeds, but we may be left out of the field entirely now for not having one "signature" road win? Ludicrous. If Louisville goes 4-4 against the other good teams in the AAC by going 2-2 at home and 2-2 on the road, is that somehow better than if we go 4-4 against the top teams by going 4-0 at home and 0-4 on the road? thats just stupid but seems to be the groupthink right now. I think its just basically disrespect for SMU and the AAC.

I think we're in regardless. The only way we don't get in is if we lose every game on out including the first game in the tourney. Beat UCF and we're in (MAYBE bubble). Beat UCF and one AAC tourney win and we're off the bubble. (of course, none of this would be even an issue if we had taken care of business at USF and Temple - typical SMU).

AND I agree with you that it's total BS.

(there is a method to my madness). We are going to get blown out. Only blowout on the record this year though.

At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
