Yeah, I have no idea why you'd want an owner who hates to lose more than the fans, who's not afraid to spend money, who listens to his fans/season tix holders and values their opinion, and who uses technology to enhance the game experience as well as anyone??

It's possible to be a good owner, commit to putting a quality product on the floor, and not act like a total clown. See: Peter Holt and his four rings. I'm not a Spurs fan either, I just enjoy watching them and respect the hell out of what they've done for 15 years now.

I'm not an NBA guy; I just follow players I liked when they were in college. That said, I think both the Spurs and the Mavericks are great organizations, albeit pretty different.

Because it's translated into such success in March the past few years

Over the last 9 years, 5 elite eights and a NC. Not too shabby.

I dislike Kansas (and Bill Self and Kansas fans and "the Phog" and the phrase "Rock Chalk"), but Kansas has been arguably the most successful program in the nation over the past 10 years. Not to mention their prominent place in college basketball history in general. I'd love SMU to get a shot at them one of these days... and it'll only ever happen in the tournament.

No way, UNC, UCONN, and Florida are all easily ahead of KU. All three have multiple national championships and have made deep runs in other season.

Corrected. NC and Florida would be interesting arguments.

Nope. Double check your numbers. No NC for UNC, Florida isn't even close, and UConn only has three EE and 1 NC.[/quote] In the last 10 years? KU has one, right? UNC has 05 and 09 and Florida won back to back.

I did say arguably. Kansas is the only one of these teams listed to make the NCAA tournament in all ten years. (In fact the last time they didn't make the tournament was the year after Larry won his national championship there.) They made the Sweet 16 seven of those ten times and the Elite 8 five of ten. That said, it is a fair argument. The four we've mentioned plus Duke are probably the top five in whatever order you choose. CoxMustangFan wrote:Nope. Double check your numbers. UNC played in the worst national championship of the decade when Ty Lawson and Tyler Hansbrough beat the everloving [deleted] out of Michigan State in 2009. They also won in 2005. Florida's two back-to-back national championships (2006 and 2007) are pretty legit. UConn won in both 2004 and 2011.

I understand how he can off that way, but what he's done with my all-time favorite sports team trumps the other stuff. I hate the Spurs with a passion, only thing that comes close is my hatred for TCU.

Kansas is as elite as it gets. 10 straight conference championships as well mixed in with 5 Elite 8 appearances in the last 10 years. That's absurd. Winning a national championship for any team is a fluke, pure luck.
