What do you mean you don't think he is worth the trouble? Just curious.

I think he's a lottery pick that will be light on production in college. He's not really an alpha kid, just highly skilled. I also don't like the idea of the glare SMU will get by having two top 5 kids, especially one that never listed us..

Even if that is the case, I still think there is some merit to having alums in the NBA as kids look up to those players. It helps with recruiting players and t-shirt fans.

I think I saw where he once posted about blue jerseys. Could X be a part of the crips?

(BTW - totally joking...)

On the bright side, we're helping Stallion reach 30,000 posts. That's quite an accomplishment.

Again, many ways to define success. They had one good class that stayed for two years. They've missed the tourney a couple times and they only have three conference titles in the worst P5 conference (six EVER). Sorry if I don't agree that they're "clearly the best".

Yup THIS ^^^^. The two final fours and Natty's came from one class. They've been okay without that class. Clearly not the best team of the last decade though and if you really think so, then you don't follow basketball. North Carolina has 2 Natty's, 3 Final Fours, 6 Elite 8s, and 6 conference championships in the last decade. So I'd say that's a hell of a lot better resume then Florida. Not to mention, it was done over the span of a decade, not just a couple year flame.

EDIT: And Kansas has definitely been better over the last decade. They could've won the Natty in 2012 but ran into a buzzsaw in Kentucky in the national championship. So I don't know how you've anointed Florida as the best team of a decade. Regardless, Florida basketball will probably slip back into mediocrity after Donovan is gone just like they had been for the previous 100 years. They were pathetic before him and Kruger turned them around, never even made the tourney til the mid-80s.

I just did above. Great coach. Top 10 in all of basketball right now. Too bad it's at a lame duck basketball program.

No one cares about conference titles in cbb. A lot of teams only feign trying to win in order to rest up for the big dance.

No team rests it's players for the big dance. Every game counts for conference and big dance seeding. AAC has 5 teams at war with each other that know they are going to the big dance.

I'll bet you'd get a much different answer if we poll the players. Want to make a bet? I can't even believe you're arguing this.

You're crazy if you think players/coaches don't care about conference titles. It burns me that we haven't won a conference title in 21 years. I agree with hoopmanx that it's unfortunate the conference tourney trumps the regular season champion. I believe the Ivy League is the only conference that doesn't have a conference tounament. They send the regular season champ to the tourney. That said, I love the conference tourneys because it us exciting basketball but it do devalue the regular season.
