Reply Jimmy Tubbs Flexing Muscles?

he's got his work cut out for him against the elite of college BB but has anybody noticed that Tubbs and SMU has made the final lists for Darrell Arthur, George Odufuwa, Jermaine Beal and Kelvin Lewis. Lewis(Dad) and Arthur(cousin Ross) both have SMU relatives. What's the chance of Tubbs engineering a package deal among these top DFW recruits. Are these kids close-I think they all play on separate AAU and high school teams.

Arthur and Beal played on the same AAU teams.

Odufuwa visited last weekend and rumors are that Sloan was there to. Darrell Arthur has set an official visit to SMU on October 21.

Well the two Hops will be gone so two spots. But wouldn't mind a couple other players could be bumped for these kids.

Unfortunately bad news from recent Rivals article has Beal down to four school which doesn't include us.

Odufuwa is currently in Boulder for his third official after previously stating that it was between ASU and ourselves.

Still hopeful that Tubbs delivers though!

We're still in the picture with Beal, and he is still going to visit with us.

X, are we completely out of the picture with Kelvin Lewis now as it sounds?

XTC how do you know we are still in it with Beal? Trust me I would love that to be true but just curious if you have an inside source or something? I just can't find any quote by Beal to substantiate your claim.

I don't mean to doubt XTC just curious if he had an inside track on the info since nothing is posted that would make Beal seem to still be interested in us.

We're still on the map with Lewis, but we're not currently the favorite. He's nowhere close to a decision yet, though. I dont think he will use an Official visit for SMU, he's looking at alot of schools and he'll take his Officials to the ones that are further away, and take an Unofficial here.

I cant show you my source, sorry. Its not on the Internet. I go to games and I talk to people. Over the years I've gotten to know alot of people. When I want to find out something I go and ask people who might know the answer. Thats my source.

Lewis's father and I were friends when we were in school, we were in the same class. I see him alot in the summer, when he's scouting AAU and summer league tournaments. That doesnt mean I have any kind of influence on where Kelvin winds up, but he's one of the folks I talk to, now and then.

You MUST have influence, X. Make sure his father understands that it is a very unwise man who incurs the wrath of the XTC. Surely he understands that. After all, he's a smart man -- he went to SMU.

No, no influence, sorry. Any chances with Lewis are fading, after in-home visits last week he's leaning toward the bigger schools, and doesnt seem that interested in staying close to home.

Beal was impressed with his visit to Vanderbilt, and committed to them. I wouldnt be surprised if Lewis makes up his mind in the same way, soon.
