Pulled Redshirts

Postby Grider » Sat Sep 10, 2005 11:41 am

Just a guess, but I think the redshirts are coming off Chase Smith and possibly Brad Lankford.

Obviously my number one wish would be to have an offense that can let the defense rest. But with the amount of time our d spent on the field last week, we're gonna have to rotate more guys into the d-line position to keep them fresh.

didn't Caleb Peveto get a concussion or something. Another kid who is probably mentally and technically ready is Mitch Enright-he would give us flexibility and depth at 3 positions C, RG and LG -so he might be a good guess if the rumors are true. Interesting stat-he gave up zero sacks in 475 passing snaps. Remember he has played more football than just about every high school recruit in the country since he started even in his freshman year and SLC annually went to the State Championship.

My first choice would be to win at most any cost, but secondly, I really would like to redshirt any and all linemen on both sides of the ball. They need more size, muscle, maturity and quickness for D-1 football. Pull the redshirt off of any skill position that can help now, but keep the big kids in the feeding trough for now. Maybe Enright is an exception. I have never seen him play, but I would still like to redshirt him if possible. I watched Peveto after the injury, and my guess is he is ok. He wanted to go back in but any type of head injury needs special care and attention.

Bryce Hudman? Sounds like a surprise. Has he been tearing it up in practice?

I still say Chase Smith could do us alot of good on the d-line.

The only problem with redshirting defensive lineman is that they might not make it back next year because they can't make the grades!
