I don't think we would have won those games early in the season. Build the winning tradition and then the rest follows in.

We good RPI games early. And you really don't know what we would have done early. The Virginia game actually helped us even thought we lost. This is not football so as you say regarding apples and oranges. Scheduling is also somewhat apples and oranges but not by much. The basketball team will have a stronger OOC next year because the conference will be weaker without Louisville. The football team need a strong OOC to gain creditability due to being in a weak conference as well. Beat Baylor. UCF did and we can too. Go SMU.

Your apples to oranges comment was ignorant because we are not talking about year 2 of a football program. Most football coaches are only given 3 or 4 years to turn a football team around. We are in 7.

June wasn't expected to take us bowling until about year 3 or 4. Happened in year 2 which is why we extended him back then. Our program did turn around when JJ came in...or are you pretending that 1989-2007 never happened?

You are flip flopping just like FTHP. We all know that JasonB is a hard core JJ supporter but you go one way sometimes and another way other times. Now you say he did turn the program around but then you say that you want a cupcake schedule because he has hasn't turned the program around in 7 years with less restrictions than any other coach since the DP.

When did I flip flop? And when did I ask for a cupcake schedule? I have said many times that this schedule is the best we have had since we were in SWC...how does that turn into me saying that I want Baylor out of the schedule?! I want us in the Big 12, so please illustrate to me how that correlate to me saying we don't want tough teams and need a cupcake schedule? Have you seen the teams we would play in a B12 schedule?

June did create a football program from scratch. Talk to any player recruited by Bennett and ask him to compare Bennett era vs. june era and the answer will be: "We became a football team when JJ got here."

Is there a lot of ground to cover before we can beat Big 12 level teams? Yes, the work isn't over. When June got hired I knew it would take 10 years for us to become an elite (P5) level team. So have patience, we will get there eventually. And no cupcake schedules, ever. You only get a cupcake when you play in a tough conference.

Just 3 years to go and we should be there right?

We may win and we may lose but the comparing scores against common foes thing cuts both ways.

Yes SMU kept it close against UCF but the Tech and TCU opposition heavily slants our way. None of it means much either way as it's not ultimately dealing with how the teams match up vs each other. UCF has a better OL and a 1st round QB that gave us issues, I don't think SMU does.

Is there any truth to this rumor? The lead got buried but I see no proof that SMU is trying to get out of the BU game.

Glad to hear it. I'm looking forward to our game win or lose.

Haha, that is funny. No, everyone knows we get blown out by any and all ex-SWC opponents. You don't need to be a SMU fan to know that. I hope we get out of the game. I am tired of being embarrassed every opening game.
