Lineup in AAC Tournament and NCAA TournamentFirst off I trust in LB, but am uncertain who will get minutes in the AAC Tournament and NCAA Tournament. Our lineup has been all over the place the past few games.
Glad that we have depth, but was kind of hoping that our lineup would be more certain by the end of the year. I understand maybe disciplinary issues and injury issues factored in, but moving forward who is going to start and who is going to get minutes? Assuming that everyone is fit and ready for the AAC Tournament and NCAA Tournament. I am hoping that Yanick will start along with Kennedy, Sterling, Russell and Nic Moore. Bring Ben Moore, Cannen Cunningham, Shawn Williams, Keith Frazier off the bench. Keep Shawn Williams, Ryan Manuel, Crandall Head, on the bench until we get into any foul trouble. Thoughts?
Re: Lineup in AAC Tournament and NCAA TournamentLet's see:
-N Moore at the 5 -Moriera at the 1 -Russell as the 2 -Brown at the 3 -Kennedy at the 4
Re: Lineup in AAC Tournament and NCAA Tournament
hah
Re: Lineup in AAC Tournament and NCAA TournamentWhy are we playing starters at those positions? I think we should get the bench guys out there so they can get experience for next year and avoid injury. Start Ben Moore at the point, maybe Cannen at the SG position, then we can have the walk-ons start the 3, 4, and 5. Should work out well imo.
Re: Lineup in AAC Tournament and NCAA TournamentHow about starting a "6th man" tradition and bring a old man out of the red seats who had eligibility. I volunteer. I play the point. I will make smith wish he had taken up bowling.

Re: Lineup in AAC Tournament and NCAA TournamentI volunteer too. I can even hit threes with "ok" accuracy. You cant come up woth the idea and volunteer.
Re: Lineup in AAC Tournament and NCAA TournamentOBF & SMUer, why even post anything if you are going to be that overly sarcastic? Maybe it is good for a few laughs? Whatever I guess. Maybe you don't have an opinion on the subject, that is ok too.
I was asking a real question. I mean Cannen Cunningham started the last game? (18 whole seconds) Yanick has been out for what seems like 3 weeks. Our rotation has been all over the place. Doesn't make sense to me. I would think by the end of the season that LB would have figured out which guys he is going to war with. Frazier has barely seen the floor. Ben Moore could really use some more minutes. I was just trying to make sense of our rotation. I guess everyone is happy with the rotation? I for one am not. I trust in LB, but am a little nervous about our rotation.
Re: Lineup in AAC Tournament and NCAA TournamentStandUp, your concerns have been well covered on other threads here. That is why people aren't taking this thread seriously. The bottom line is that nobody knows for sure who we will start in the upcoming games.
That being said, you brought up Cannen starting in the last game but only playing 18 seconds. LB planned to play him longer, but Cannen picked up 2 quick fouls and went to the bench in foul trouble. Starting Cannen was a questionable move, but pulling him quickly was done only by necessity.
Re: Lineup in AAC Tournament and NCAA TournamentFrom a coaching perspective, I think LB is genius. Opponent coaches have to really prepare to meet the vast variety of lineups we can present. LB's at time chaotic line up creates opponent coaches with vast unknown variables. With a good team with so much depth, and so many opportunities for a vast array of players, opposing coaches face a real challenge.
Re: Lineup in AAC Tournament and NCAA TournamentI am well aware that Cannen was pulled after 2 fouls in 18 seconds. The only lineup concern that I have read over the past few days is posters wanting Yanick and MK to play together. That makes sense to me.
Yes our team is deep and LB has the luxury of playing a variety of lineups. Definitely an advantage. We need to realize that "now" it is put up or shut up time. AAC Tournament for our seeding. NCAA Tournament, win or go home. Just wondering what lineup he will go with now that all the games moving forward really matter. The lineups and the rotation in the past few games have been all over the place. Cause for a little concern. Setting aside our starting lineup I flat out don't understand our rotation. What about Frazier? What about Ben Moore? What about Yanick? All these guys deserve more quality minutes. How LB decides who gets what minutes? Again I trust LB. Maybe everything will come together at the right time of the year? Here is hoping...

Re: Lineup in AAC Tournament and NCAA Tournament
I will try and give a serious response since that is what I think you are looking for. I think the rotation is explained by a couple of things. 1) LB emphasizes defense and knowing the system over all. As a result you see Shawn Williams playing a lot. Shawn doesn't add anything to the offenses but he does know the system sets good screens and understands what is trying to be accomplished. On the defensive side he work [deleted] the glass (though he is a bit undersized for who he guards) and he understands the rotation. 2) frailer isn't getting a lot of minutes because he does not understand his defensive rotation responsibilities and while he is a pretty good shooter he is not so good as to be willing to ignore the defensive lapses. Frailer also has some dribbling mechanic flaws that lead to turnovers. 3) I think we have not seen mk and yanick together more because most college teams play small and when they do you can't have mk having to be out of the parameters where he will draw fouls. 4) Ben Moore is a good player put also a freshman with ups and downs, he was really off against Memphis as he missed pretty much all of his jump hooks that when he is on he makes them all.
Re: Lineup in AAC Tournament and NCAA TournamentThank you for your post. Good insight. I definitely agree with your points. It is win or go home time. Hoping that LB pulls the right strings and our lineup and rotation comes together. Now is the time!
