Are you out of your mind? How do you figure the NIT is a better fit? That would be a HUGE detriment to the program and the momentum in recruiting. Not only that, the team has knocked off 3 tourney teams that are all top 25, one of them they beat twice. They were in both games with Louisville. What makes you think SMU is worse than Nebraska? Nebraska will be in the tourney most likely....

I live in Dallas and live and breath SMU, I have been there through thick and thin...mostly thin...in fact, really effin skinny.

This is a good team, for SMU standards, it is not a tournament team. We just don't have enough guys that can put it through the hoop. That is OK, we are building.

I would rather go win the NIT than get knocked out in the first round of the big dance.

Actually, I prefer neither right now, really hurts to lose 3 in a row, including a tournament loss to Houston. Long Hail the Late Great Jimmy Tubbs, he got our last conference tourney win in 2006.
