Went to Dave & Buster's for lunch, and felt obligated to go the burger route ... big mistake. Greasy, salty and nothing even close to the flavor of beef. Very disappointing.

I would hate to get the Burger Wars thread deleted so I will not follow PP's post with our favorite saying.

Anybody know anything about Scotty P's that's in Preston Forest shopping center?

If it's anything like the Scotty P's in Addison or the one in Frisco, it's well worth a visit. Or two. Or 153.

Too lazy to look and see if this has been posted.
Chip's on McKinney is closing soon if not already.
I love this thread, never ending!

Too bad. That building has never really been the same since it was The Old Church.

Lots of great memories of Half Price Nite on Mondays.

The one on Lovers Lane needs to close. It's gone straight downhill ever since they sold out.

Fort Worth gets some good coverage. Be glad you are getting a Love Shack in Dallas. The burgers are amazing. I hate to eat at the one here, but we do like to get them to go.

It was a good spot when it was in the old bldg off the 75 access road. I remember when that whole area was nothing.

True - it was great then.
Used to sit on the patio and drink, watching drivers trying to dive straight down the old ramps into traffic. Some near-misses, as I recall.

From Yelp.com Dallas newsletter
There's a Patty in Yelp's Mouth...
September 09
Home of the Big Yelper!
Whether you're looking for fast food, a ma and pa, or a hole-in-the-wall shack, Dallas knows how to grill 'em up right, and we ain't scared to yelp about 'em neither.
Anyone with a taste for meat and cheese will tell you that Twisted Root dreams up some of the most mouth-watering burgers in all of Dallas. And it's not just ground chuck: with hand-rolled takes on the traditional burger like buffalo, ostrich, and venison, there's enough variety to keep you coming back every day of the week. To complete your order, Mike H suggests ordering the "large, hot, buttery, and flaky onion rings." In a bit of a rush? Layla B has been known to cruise into Keller's Drive-In, where she professes her love for the "carside service, hot rods, and most of all, the cheeseburgers."
Joseph B states that you can't begin to talk about burgers in Big D without mentioning the juicy, bun soakers at the Angry Dog. Find him in the men's room, checking out the wallpaper, featuring hot chicks in bikinis. Over I-75 and through SMU territory, lies another diamond in the not-so-rough by the name of Goff's. Deno F likes to chat with pictures of Laura Bush on the wall before ordering her usual number 12â€"the Deal. This harmonious marriage of two meats includes a hamburger topped with hickory sauce and a hot dog bathed in chili, cheese and onions. She also warns not to leave without sampling one of their flaky, crispy, deep-fried pies dusted with powdered sugar and filled with fresh chunks of apples or apricots. [Insert heart attack here.]
But remember, the ultimate burger joint experience is about more than just what's in between the buns. Jessica C declares that Jack's Burger House spices their french fries with the freshest seasonings in town before serving them up piping hot. Over at Adair's Saloon, good tunes can accompany tasty goodness. According to Leslie P, don't just count on cheap beer, bargain grub, an ass-kickin' jukebox, and no cover, but their ability to bring mohawks, cowboy hats, and leather jackets together under one roof. She promises, "You will leave this bar feeling dirty, and you will love it." Hope that's up to health code!

Anyone try the burger at National Sports Lounge yet?
I've heard some of their food is good, but I have yet to get a report on the all-important burger.

Scotty P's is now open in Preston Forest Shopping Center, next door to SMU sponsor Mi Cocina.
We've eaten at Scotty P's four times within the past two weeks and it's GREAT!
I got the #1 (Mayo sub for mustard, pickles, 86'ed the onions, lettuce, tomato, & more lettuce) well-done. This is a HUGE burger! Mouth watering with excellent seasoning and a bun that does it justice. The meat hangs off of the bun! If you go for the fries, get a junior size for yourself or the regular order for your whole table. Our only complaint was the onion rings. They're HUGE, too, but were undercooked - in fact, almost raw! - and not suited to our tastes.
The Mrs. (BornRed&Blue) got the #7 and said it reminded her of how a Goff's burger used to taste when we were in high school in the '70s.
We highly recommend Scotty P's in Preston Forest Shopping Center. There's also some nice SMU pictures on the walls including a photo of Doak Walker. Wear your SMU gear and let 'em know you're a Mustang!
If you live in the north Dallas area, give 'em a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

FOUR TIMES in two weeks?
Sounds like you're living on my diet!
