Hoop, thats fine. Just know that jt agrees with you and noone else does. I think we ALL know eachother's opinion on the dismisal of Matt from SMU. We can all just remember it from now on as opposed to continuing to repost how we feel on the matter. That is what I plan to do and I hope others will join in.

I haven't been silent on the subject at all, Hoop. Not at all. I share with you your allegiance and loyalty to Jimmy Tubbs. Innocent until proven guilty. I just didn't think it would be blind allegiance the way you've been jumping to conclusions like you have.
As a friend, I recommend you re-read Diamond M's advice above.

jt, if this golf tourney slush fund is in fact true what will you change your slogan to?
"Recruiting slush fund, burgers and Cheer oh my!" That would be my recomendation. I in fact would want you to go back an edit all your previous posts which contained your "catch phrase" to be updated with the new phrase. Unfortunately that would be cruel and unusual being that it would take hours to edit the absurd amount of times you posted it. I'm just not that mean.
***Disclaimer***
Golf tourney slush fund might not be true. Not saying I have proof that it is true.

please cite for me all the conclusions I have jumped to. From the beginning about all i have done is vigourously defend Tubbs short coaching and recruiting record on one hand and ask for the facts about violations to be made known for SMU's own sake on the other hand. Now I have argued those concepts about 100 different ways but that is it. I have never proclaimed innocence for Tubbs. The Williams comments are what they are and I stand by them. Maybe its a touchy and uncomfortable situation for SMU. Maybe public pressure is the only thing that will cause what needs to happen to occur. Matt and Max need to step aside.

That is perversely unfair, prejudiced, and mean spirited.
mean spirited, maybe. Unfair, prejudiced, don't be ridiculous. Matt Williams does not have some unalienable right to be on the basketball team at SMU. You people keep saying get over and move on and I say exactly: bye Matt. If Matt and Max cared about SMu more than themselves that is what they would do and you know it.
I agree that Matt should leave the team. I disagree on how he should leave. They should not pull his scholarship or throw him off the team unless there is hard evidence to warrant that. Matt should leave because this will not be a pleasant college experience for him. While he may not have anything to do with this and is just a victim (I am not saying he is or isn't) it is in HIS best interest to leave.

Remember that Innocent until proven guilty mentality when slinging mud at Matt Williams. That goes for you too Hoop.

hey there are a whole lot of people on this board taking shots at jtstang and Hoop Fan who claim to have known the truth and I don't think a single one of you mentioned a golf tournament slush fund before today. I'd rather be in jtstang and Hoop Fan's shoes than involved in yet another sordid episode of an SMU cover-up of NCAA violations. Investigate the allegations, get the facts, release a general statement about the nature of the violations, report them to the NCAA and then move on with a slap on the wrist. Why does SMU find this so damn difficult?

That's a good question, because clearly I'd have to drop burgers and Cheer, and really anything which suggests that the firing was for no good reason. But the way it was handled would still bother me. If those were the reasons they should have been given in the beginning. Therefore I think my new slogan would have to be, "SMU: Misleader in the Community."
BTW, if it does turn out to be true, hats off to friarwolf and his reference to the Darrell Arther thread in TexasHoops. It would make a lot of cents. I mean sense.

Blunt, that is all i am saying. Havent i clearly said that I do not think Doherty should kick Matt off the team? I think Matt should leave volunarilty for his own sake and moreso for SMU's sake.

Agreed. It is in Matt's best interest to move on.

reading comprehension is a must in life. Jt and I have not necessarily been saying the exact same thing at all. I am not calling for Matts dismissal, this is not Doherty's mess. Matt should leave on his own if he and Max care about SMU.
