And we have some brilliant people at Cox in the world of marketing. People who are sought out and hired by huge well-known brands for their insight. And exactly 1,0001 MBA/BBA students. If we can't support a sports marketing department, we should at least use the resources we have.
Agreed, it seems so obvious; why can't the administration see it. We actually have something worth promoting now!
yup. We're contenders now

Are the AD and his staff are so busy doing their jobs that they don't stop to think about how to best do their jobs? It happens in every business. People get swamped and just slog through to get the job done. I know we are rabid and want the best for the 'Stangs - so we spend a lot of time thinking about how they should do things.
Universities, as a business, sell intellectual capital. I really hope they are leveraging the Intellectual Capital across campus because they have everything they need. Think about what kind of work product they can get from their own campus:
1) Cox School of Business: a) Marketing plans b) Financial modeling/scenario planning c) Project/Program mgt.
2) Meadows School of the Arts: a) Graphics/Artwork b) Copy writing
3) Theology School a) it never hurts to ask for a little help during really big game
Students are cheap labor, even cheaper if Professors get on board and use this as a teaching experience.
Some rise by sin, and some by virtue fall

I've suggested on many occasions that the AD approach the B-school; this (improving attendance at athletic events) would make a great group project for a marketing class

We haven't had very attractive opponents at Ford this year so far. I think the TCU and UH games will be very well attended. Looking forward to the non-conference schedule next season (as it currently stands), the Ponies could be looking at playing before sell-out or near sell-out crowds for all of those games.

the challenge is to improve attendance for these games where the opponents don't sell tickets. The challenge is to get our programs to the point where there are 25,000 people who want to come out and see SMU football even if we are playing UAB or WASU. We obviously don't have a big budget to work with, but there is no doubt in my mind our players (and recruits) would appreciate seeing at least 25k in Ford for every game
