I think he was arguing that us joining doesn't disadvantage anyone involved (except maybe ECU).

Think Boston College would have any interest in leaving ACC for Big East?

anyone who doesn't think joining the be is a good idea is simply ignorant regarding college football. it is a no brainer.
in this day and age it is mandatory to be in a bcs conference.

For Boston College? Or for SMU?

For SMU, no doubt. We join in a heartbeat. Stability be damned, we need to be in a BCS conference.

It's a no brainer assuming that the BE keeps most of its members. That may not be the case.

It's a no brainer even if some leave. They won't lose their BCS status right away and it is better for us to be in a BCS conference for 1-2 years than not at all. We can always go back to play the Rices of the world.

I agree hoops would be awesome. And I would love to see us play ND, DePaul, Marquette, Nova, GT, St. Johns, Seton Hall, Providence, and if they stay, Louisville, UConn, Cincy and WVU. Doh would be able to pitch recruits on playing in one of the two best hoops conferences in the Country and games in big arenas like MSG, Verizon Center, etc.

This is going to be really funny when in about a week I jump on here and everyone is in depression from us not getting into the BE. Then we will be back to normal, and everyone will stop dreaming of BCS paydays and BE basketball for the Ponies.

No kidding, and that's a likely outcome. Mizzou might stay in the Big 12, which means TCU will stay in the Big East, which means they may not have a use for SMU.

That stud gary patterson says he isn't going to help us get in the big east. Therefore, i guess we are doomed.
