This thread acknowledges reality, PK. What have you got against reality?
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.

Depends on whose reality you are referring to.

SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

It blows! That's why I drink and do drugs. To alter my reality.

And it was big of you to steer clear of the engineering fight earlier this week. I would have expected you to bring in Cecil Smith for another guest appearance.

Guess I missed that fight...link? I might join in yet.

PK wrote:If this becomes our reality, it is probably the best for us at this time. Let's look at the pros and cons of the current reality (that was for jt).
C-USA:
pro - It's not all that bad a conference and definitely better than the WAC and we are on a path to be in contention for the top spot on a regular basis.
con - Non-AQ and not much up side.
Excellent summary (in the wrong thread), PK. Clearly the pros outweigh the cons for C-USA. I mean, we've lived with the cons since we joined, but now we are in a position to be the big fish in this pond.
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.

Since that can't be at this stage of the game, what's your second choice?

Don't count your chickens until they're fried and being served in a KFC box. Embrace CUSA for now, have a bunch of beer tomorrow, and watch SMU beat another CUSA team.

Non-AQ says it all. Our rich alum benefactors are going to tire at some point of carrying the load. AQ conferences provide more cash to their members.

Amen, brother. The 'vard will follow wherever we go, even if we stay in good ole C-USA as a perennial powerhouse.

Re: NOW OFFICIAL: EMBRACE C-USA
We could even consider changing the name of C-USA to the SMUG conference. (SMU Greatness conference).

We could pick a new school to blackball every week.
