I am a constant fan but why are posters (some) so excited about a home court win over La Tech? Lots to do and prove. Couldn't see game today but score was close.

Cause they beat us w/regularity. In fact, they are dominating the head to heads.

this is SMU basketball, you need to be excited about every win right now. If we played La Tech the first few games of the year, no way we win this one

Can Doh please yell at the players during practice but quit yelling at them like a fool and trying to embarrass them during the game? The way he yells at Nyk and Giles today was just ridiculous. Save it for the refs Doh. Players don't respond to that. Don't think Dean Smith embarrassed players like that.

It was embarrassing to witness. I realize it isn’t new, but at some point SMU is culpable as this has been his behavior his entire career.
I really didn't notice Doherty vs La Tech. I saw him chewing Nyuk a bit in the second half because of something he didn't do when he didn't have the ball. Based on the game Nyuk was having he probable needed an earful. He was so out of it.
I don't know if I buy where SMU shares guilt in this. This is Doherty's bag and I think he knows he better get something going this year because he's fighting for his job. Should be an interesting January-March.
Wuba and I had a conversation with Doh before the season about how he interacts with some players. It was very interesting to hear how he treats each player differently. Some players won't react or listen unless he chastises them. He wont talk to other players until an assistant has first, kind of a good coach, bad coach routine.
We were watching this unfold yesterday and really got to see it play out. Very fascinating to watch having had that prior conversation.

Doh is as inconsistent communicating to his players as he is will his player rotations. Impressive to look @ what Manuel did in his 15 min. compared to the 36 min of # 12. Still need more Cunningham, Smith, & Jones.
"We have a great bunch of outside shooters. Unfortunately, all our games are played indoors."
Glad to see Losh had a good game. Hadnt seen much of anything from him until now except crisp passing (which is great - but enough for the minutes he has been getting) ..so that was great to see. some guys have to get some court time to show what the coaches are probably seeing in practice every day.
This team could get exciting down the stretch. Doh has lots of ways to mix it up. I think we will need Vilde when the tress get taller (like Memphis, Tulsa, UCF) so he needs some minutes so he is not too cold in there. You need at least 5 big guys to rotate - espciecially since we dont have much height in there and when we hit a legit 7 footer we will need some fouls to give.
Cotton better get his shot back to take pressure off Rob - we will be easy to defend unless Cotton and losh can hit close to 50% on their 3's . excited at Manuel's minutes and Cunningham also - love both those guys.

Ask Paul Pierce of the Boston Celtics how many times Roy Williams threw him out of practice ( Doh was assistant) and chewed him out during games until he got it figured out. Shaq says in his book that Pat Riley had four hour practices, had the trainer constantly measuring players body fat, and had "spies" all around town seeing what the players were doing so he could remind them how bad habits were effecting their play. Hey, we are getting ready for the Big East not the Big Easy, we better not only have talent but have mentally tough players who get this thing figured out. Don't think we will beat Ole Miss and hope I am wrong. We have not proven yet ( couple of exceptions) that we can win on the road. Not putting this team down as life on the road is TOUGH
