I know that is what i would do. If any players are reading this, I would implore you to read your playbook instead.

@jonesdoe you haven't been building a message of harmony and blue sky, you have been constantly blaming all of the fans that support the school. Like I said earlier, maybe you should focus on people that currently do not support the school and turn them into fans.

I have not been talking to the majority of fans on ponyfans and I think it is self serving of you to try and put yourself into that group.

I am part of the group that wants the best for this program. You are part of the group that wants the best for June. You are the one talking about ditching SMU. I am the one who is going to be here no matter what.

I'm sure the players like to read their praise, but when it comes to negative comments, they aren't worried about what we as fans say. While being recruited there were several posters on this board that complained about me coming here and said I was a charity case for my older brother. Then while playing some on here even thought I should be thrown off the team or arrested. But I kept on playing, playing for my coaches and my friends. Our players are just fine. We can praise them when they do well and get mad when they don't. That's life. Sure we will have the occasional parent on her defending their kid and why not. But at the end of the day PF is a place to vent. If you want that warm fuzzy feeling when you log on, start a site. Try ponybliss.com

You have experienced exactly the kind of treatment that I and other ponyfans take issue with. When you suggest the players should withdraw from the SMU larger community and just play for the coaches and your friends indicates a psychological breakdown in the SMU family. Student athletes receive scholarship to play for the school... What would ponyfans say if several or all of the players on the team flipped the bird to the stands before the start of the game and say take that?

The suggestion of "I took it so they can take it does not justify anything but indicates a classical example of a generational type problem" which is exactly what I have been trying to make some people aware of to stop the death house cycle for the benefit of SMU and all future student athletes.

Let's be considerate of one another and treat others like we want to be treated and deal with aggravation appropriately.

Isn't that what they are doing when they don't play hard and act like they don't care that they aren't playing hard?

I kind of got the impression that's what they did to the fans who supported them at the USM, Tulsa et al games. You can hardly say they gave a championship level of performance at those games.

GO PONIES!!!

I don't doubt your love for SMU... I don't think anyone, in their own view of themselves, has intentionally tried to hurt the program. Everyone wants the program and team to get better and this site is very much a part of the SMU program.

Whoa! I never said we turned our back on the fans. We loved seeing people in the stands. What I meant was that we didn't pay attention to the negativity. We would only listen to the criticism from our coaches and players. And I don't agree with anyone who calls out these guys for not playing hard. Maybe not well(and I didn't always play well). But if anyone believes that these kids don't play hard they are sadly mistaken.

I agree with the concept that we in the stands are out of place in criticizing the lack of effort when all we do is show up for the games and we don't see the day to day work, practice, film, etc.... But anybody that thinks that 0-12 team didn't have some "give up" in it is sadly mistaken.
