No similarity whatsoever.

Better check those UT uniforms again. They have "TEXAS" emblazoned on the front, as does A&M, Tech, and a host of others.
Since we have one of the most compelling 3 letter names in college sports, let's not
completely ignore it..Does SMU have any say in their own uniform?? Or is it completely up to Nike's discretion..

Maybe some day the powers that be will finally realize that nike has always treated us like the 'red-headed step child' and will continue to do so. The new unis are disappointing to say the least.
GO PONIES!!!

You are probably right. No similarity between our new jerseys and these.

I think the jerseys are very blah. Worse than that, the presentation is embarassing. My 10 yr old son could have set up and taken that photo. I would think it was bad if done by my high school. And someone said it best...no way those uniforms appeal to 16-18 yr olds. Agree that an updated blue look would help smu stand out.

JJ's Hawaii teams always had good looking uniforms and it has been just the opposite here for the most part.

These unis look like they came off the ready made rack and just threw on some pony patches and called it good. The pony patches are probably cheaper than the three large letters.

OOPS, I stand corrected! I still like the idea of making the pony emblem sufficient reference. But that is entirely my personal opinion.

I figured ours came from a throwback concept.

I made the mockups you are referring to... Today, while looking at the SMU Red & Blue Army page I saw a pic of the new (heinous) Nike uniforms... I decided to roughly mockup how Nike could have made these uniforms better... I really need to tip my hat to Nike... I didn't think it was possible to screw it up as bad as they did! I believe if they had looked like this, more people would be happy...

I would happily accept responsibility...

My wife's comment after seeing the uniforms, "they look feminine".

It's funny so many people ripping on Nike but someone here had to sign off on these, probably June since we were without an AD for so long. Someone let Nike do this crap to us or even possibly directed them.

Scathing but appropriate remark.
