Tulane sells hurricanes. Pretty sure there's no NCAA rule.

So does Memphis but all are city facilities. Rice has a separate corral area. Hawaii does sells. Just cant think of any on campus stadiums that do?

Houston's stadium is on campus and they sell alcohol. That is not an issue.

Alyssa is right on. A few drinks is fine but too many don't know when enough is enough and it shouldn't be in the stands at a sporting event to find out. Too many sneaking in flasks, etc anyway. they disrupt everyone around them and then here come the fights and cursing. It is a problem at most college and pro football games and rangers games too. How about a designated drunk tank section at the stadium in the end zone? No security guards just all the drunks there and see how it goes. Maybe keep the Allstate nets up behind the goalposts to protect on the field participants and then net extensions would be sponsored by budweiser and dwi attorneys since it is all about making money anyway. Other endzone would have the cussors and then true fans who appreciate the game in the main stands.

I took that as certain people, perhaps Turner with his radical ultra-religious background, were against it.

If we want to be religious wackjobs, fine. But then we have to cut the alcohol off for the premium seats, too.

I like my adult alcoholic beverages as much as the next guy, but really, why do people feel the need to have a brew in the stadium to enjoy a football game or any other game for that matter? If you have been on the Blvd drinking your favorite drink for any length of time prior to the game, why do you need more during the game? Just curious.

I took it as a reference to a perceived less family friendly environment if drinking is broadly allowed. I did not get a religious connotation in the comment personally.

I am in favor of selling alcohol in the stadium, but they are right to want to study it and engage the various constituencies, if only so everyone will feel they have been heard and know that their concerns were considered. Makes those people less likely to [deleted] later if they were invited to be a part of the process up front.

Also, while there are a number of colleges that sell alcohol in their on campus stadiums, it clearly is not all of them besides us, so lets not act like it is a slam dunk decision and SMU is incredibly stupid for not doing it. If it was simple then everyone would be doing it.

Am I the only one who things orienting the game towards families is NOT the right path?

Is there a strong football program with decent attendence that has a family focused game experience?
