Baylor BOR says Ken Starr's role as chancellor is external development and religious liberty. His operational duties have been revoked.

#MorrisIsOurPatterson

I hope we are able to flip a few Bear commits.

September 10, 2016 is looking just a smidgen better for the away team.

I'm sorry, but that's BS.

Bennett was the DC on a team with multiple defensive players now charged with assaulting women. I don't know the dynamic of that coaching staff - maybe Briles steamrolled all of Bennett's decisions, maybe he told Bennett to 'shut it' when Phil opened his mouth to protest -but Phil Bennett was responsible to recruiting those players - he should have been the FIRST to say 'NO WE DON'T WANT THIS KID' or perhaps 'Son, we are going to give you a second chance, but if I find out that you are so much as looking at a woman wrong you are gone, outtahere, forgotten - got it?'

I haven't read any reports, but I tend to think Phil Bennett is every bit as culpable as Briles is. How he is surviving I haven't got a clue. I don't know what defense he could offer up to save his job that Briles could. In fact, I almost believed for a moment Briles was going to offer up Bennett to save his job. Didn't work out that way, and PB needs to be orally gratifying somebody right now.

JasonB wrote:Congrats to Baylor for making the results of the investigation public and taking immediate action. This will allow them to enact the changes necessary and make sure the problems do not happen again.

NO. Shame on Baylor for covering up this sordid mess for so long and only moving when forced to by public sentiment.

Yep littl' Chad Jr and their nice house in the HPISD might save SMU here for a couple more years-although they aren't big city folk -they may have gotten used to it by now

FOX Sports:

Baylor should cancel its 2016 football season
Baylor sold its soul in exchange for football glory, and now it should pay.

And don't confuse the release of this report as an act of contrition. That's a long, arduous process that will need to start at the highest levels of the school and trickle down —┬Ç┬ö how did they enable what was happening, and why did they do it?

It'll de difficult to reflect when the season starts in September, and the Bears take the field at McLane Stadium, the $266-million stadium that opened in 2014. The stadium is called "The House That Art Built" and for good reason —┬Ç┬ö the building isn't built if the Bears are still in the basement of the Big 12.

That building should stay empty for a season as penance. No one is immune from criticism in this scandal —┬Ç┬ö including players —┬Ç┬ö but Baylor should work with the NCAA to let the Bears athletes that want to transfer from the school leave without having to sit out a year, and let those who want to stay and make Baylor a better place for all students should be given an extra year of eligibility.

But nothing shy of a full burn is going to bring about meaningful, systematic change at Baylor, and as of Thursday, the flames don't appear nearly large enough.
